Metro Bank down as customers say accounts have money MISSING due to banking glitch

METRO Bank is currently suffering a major issue with its payment services.

Customers are reporting their payments are being duplicated, with some left with negative balances in their accounts as a result.

One customer said on Facebook: “Anyone having issues with Metro Bank this morning? I’ve had all my money taken and same with some friends and family.”

“Another person said on X.com: “What on earth is going on with the app this morning and why is my balance showing -£99?”

A third added: “My partners got the same issue and he’s out working 14 hours without any food & can’t buy any.”

Another said: “What is going on? All my transactions duplicated and is leaving me in minus/no access to funds.”

One customer even said they had lost a day’s work due to the issue, blasting it as “completely unacceptable”.

A message on the bank’s service status web page said: “Our payment services are currently unavailable. We’re working to fix the problem and have them up and running as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

“Our payment services are currently unavailable, so you won’t be able to send money to other accounts.”
