Man Utd and Premier League rivals on transfer red alert as Antoine Semenyo release clause emerges after stunning start

ANTOINE SEMENYO’S suitors have been put on red alert by the emergence of a release clause in his new Bournemouth deal.

Ghana star Semenyo, 25, has been one of the stars of the Premier League season so far with six goals in his first seven league games, plus three assists.

He was expected by many to leave the Cherries in the summer and was of significant interest to Tottenham and Manchester United.

But he surprisingly signed a new five-year contract with the South-Coast side instead.

Yet SunSport understands Semenyo’s fresh terms include a release clause – albeit the exact value is not clear.

It will come as a boost to the clutch of clubs keeping tabs on the former Bristol City man, who is valued at more than £75million by his club.

Semenyo joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023.

The winger has since amassed a total of 28 goals and 13 assists in 97 appearances with the Cherries.

The Ghana international has been among the key players that helped elevate the club in the last two years under manager Andoni Iraola.

Recent reports suggested United used the same process on the forward as they did on summer signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo in the most recent transfer market.

Man Utd transfer chiefs Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada also held direct conversations with the Cherries over the deal.

The Manchester giants told Bournemouth they would be willing to pay a maximum of £55m for Semenyo.

To help cement the switch from the Vitality Stadium to Old Trafford, United manager Ruben Amorim and the player also went to dinner in London together at the end of last season.

That was a tactical move also used on Cunha and Mbeumo last summer.
