MAFS’ Leigh reveals producers stepped in at her wedding, and it could change how you see her

When Leigh Harris debuted in MAFS UK season 10, she was crucified across Twitter and Instagram for giving her wife, Leah Tyrer, the cold shoulder on their wedding day.

Despite being all about good vibes and energy, giving her new wife a rose quartz to promote love and healing, Leigh was somewhat opposed to the nuptials. It got even more awkward after their wedding, when Leigh seemingly asked Leah to sleep in the “dungeon” downstairs, even offering to help with her cases. It made for an uncomfortable watch, but in a time-honoured reality TV tradition, Leigh later blamed the edit when talking about her equally disastrous honeymoon.

“I’ve got to just come on here and try back myself because that edit of the honeymoon was f*cking awful,” Leigh said in an Instagram Story. “I’m still in a little bit of shock myself, and I’m already getting an abundance of hate.”

But now it seems that the honeymoon wasn’t the only Leigh and Leah moment that was edited to look particularly awkward.

Taking to her Instagram story to answer some questions from people, Leigh responded to a query that asked: “Can I just ask why you sent Leah to another room on your wedding night?”

Hoping to “put this one to bed” because she still gets messages about how horrible she was, MAFS UK’s Leigh explained what really happened between her and Leah on their wedding night.

She confirmed: “Yes, I wanted to spend the night on my own. It had been a very, very long and overwhelming day, and for me, I recharge while being alone. That’s just who I am. I just wanted that night to myself, to decompress, take everything in, and go on the honeymoon the next day with a clear mindset.

But here’s where things get tricky, because Leigh claimed it “wasn’t my decision” to send Leah to another room, because it was actually production! Exactly why production stepped in wasn’t revealed, but considering how uncomfortable she was, perhaps producers had her best interests at heart? Or maybe just wanted the drama. Leigh also hit out at the “dungeon” claims, arguing that it was simply another room in the very lavish hotel.

So yeah, I guess we put this moment in the “All the ways the MAFS producers faked a storyline” column.
