Maeve’s time on MAFS UK came to an end at last night’s commitment ceremony after Joe walked out on her weeks ago, and she’s spoken out about her exit on Instagram.
They got off to a great start, and Joe even told Maeve that he loved her. However, he left the experiment after his grandad died and never properly returned, apart from a brief appearance at the retreat.
In her emotional statement, Maeve addressed her time on MAFS in detail and spoke about the amazing friends she’s made, but there was no mention of Joe at all. Awkward! I think it’s safe to say they didn’t end on good terms.
“My last commitment ceremony & final hurrah. Honestly, being part of this experience has been one of the craziest and most unforgettable things I have ever done. The rollercoaster of emotions you go through, from laughter to tears, nerves to joy, is absolute madness in the best possible way,” she wrote.

“I might not be walking away with a husband, but I am walking away with friendships that will last a lifetime. The people I have met on this journey have completely changed my heart. Every single day I felt love, support, and understanding from the most beautiful souls, my cast, my family for life.”
She continued: “We have cried together, laughed until it hurt, lifted each other up when things got tough & celebrated every little win like it was our own. The bond we have built is something truly special, one that only we will ever fully understand. You have all shown me that being myself is enough and that I am loved for exactly who I am.”
Maeve said she learnt so much about herself during the experiment and is now stronger and more resilient than she’s ever been. She also revealed she’s learnt that being vulnerable isn’t a weakness.
“I know the right person for me will love me for those same things my honesty, my passion, my softness, and my strength. They will respect me, communicate, support my dreams, and make me feel safe and secure in all the ways that truly matter,” Maeve added. “I am proud of the woman I am becoming, one with a big heart, a strong mind, and an unshakable belief that everything happens exactly as it should.”
She thanked the cast for making her feel “seen, loved and accepted” and concluded: “Here’s to new chapters, real connections, & trusting that the universe always has a plan.” The silence on Joe is deafening.
