The reality star took to Instagram to tell fans how he had injured himself during training.
Ikenna explained he had been left in immense pain after he tore his ACL (the anterior cruciate ligament).
This ligament is a band of tissue in the knee that connects the thigh bone to the shin bone.
In his social media post, Ikenna shared a series of photos from hospital, which included an X-ray of his torn ACL.
Writing next to slew of snaps, the devastated star said: Could’ve gone pro.
“Been hitting hella PBs this year and then got the sweet reminder that life never goes the way you think.
“ACL reconstruction surgery went smooth + medial/lateral meniscus repair & LET.
“Initially tore my ACL 4 years ago playing ball and I let it rehab naturally without surgery.
“This time around I tore it running down a hill in LA a couple weeks ago.”
Talking about his recovering, Ikenna said: “Treating this is as my factory reset, been grinding so much this year and then boom I can no longer tap into my fitness bag which is a big thing for me but I’m going to embrace this period of calmness and use it as fuel for whats to come.”
Ikenna shot to fame on season eight of Love Island in 2022, which was won by Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sancliment.
He was one of the OG cast that entered on the first day of the series.
From the start he was coupled up with Indiyah Polack.
However, Ikenna was dumped from the villa on day 15, after receiving the fewest votes from viewers.
After he was booted of the island, Indiyah quickly moved on with Dami Hope, who she is still with to this day.
Speaking at the time, Ikenna tweeted: “NAH WHAT MY CORPSE AINT EVEN COLD YET INDIYAHHHHH!”
Then he added “AY NAH THIS MUST BE STAGED.”
Since leaving the villa, Ikenna has focused on being an influencer, and lists himself on Instagram as a digital creator.

In the past, he has opened up after life after Love Island is over.
He previously revealed that he was earning less than he did before appearing on the dating show.
Ikenna made the admission in the Channel 4 documentary series called Life After Love Island, that exposed what really happens on the hit ITV reality series.
The star, who was a pharmaceutical sales rep before going into the villa, said after leaving Love Island he was making less than half the amount of money after quitting his job to go on the ITV2 show.
The documentary revealed that he made £3000 to £4000 making content and advertising in the first three months after leaving the villa, which worked out “less than half than what he was earning” at his previous job.
“You come out thinking, ‘Oh, it’s Love Island. Everyone after Love Island is set,’” he told presenter Will Njobvu. “And coming out of it, you’re like, ‘Where is it?’”
