Liverpool set to bank Premier League record £70MILLION a year shirt sponsorship deal

LIVERPOOL are set to bank a Premier League-record shirt sponsorship deal – with the club looking for £70million a year from their next agreement.

The Premier League champions’ current front-of-shirt sponsor is international bank Standard Chartered, with the deal running to the summer of 2027.

Standard Chartered have first refusal on whether they wish to continue as the club’s long-running headline sponsor, with Liverpool executives set to kick off talks.

SunSport understands an agreement with Standard Chartered could be reached soon.

However, Liverpool would not rule out alternative options, including other major banks.

The Reds have carried Standard Chartered’s name on the front of their famous red shirts since 2010.

The current deal is worth £50m a year to Arne Slot’s men.

However, the club’s title win last season and subsequent £450m transfer spree on some of the world’s hottest young players, including Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, has left the club confident it can continue to challenge for major silverware.

Liverpool’s fierce rivals Manchester United – who visit Anfield on Sunday – and Manchester City, currently have the most lucrative shirt deals in the Premier League.

Both clubs are banking £60m a year from their front-of-shirt deals.

United’s shirt features the Snapdragon brand, while City are sponsored by Etihad Airways.

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League table with just a point separating them from leaders Arsenal.

The Reds have won five and lost two of their seven league matches so far this season.
