The Limpopo Department of Health invites South African citizens to apply for the Student Nurse Training Programme 2026 at the Limpopo College of Nursing. This opportunity is offered under Circular 44 of 2025 and provides a three-year Diploma in Nursing (General).

Successful candidates will receive a Diploma endorsed by a Moderating Higher Education Institution serving as the Quality Assurer, which allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) for the Diploma in General Nursing.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens.
- Hold a Senior Certificate with endorsement (Matric exemption) or a National Senior Certificate – Bachelor’s Degree Pass.
- Have a minimum of 24 points on the rating scale (excluding Life Orientation).
Compulsory subjects with minimum requirements:
- English: HG E or Level 4
- Biology/Life Sciences: HG E or Level 4
- Physical Sciences: HG E / Level 4
- Mathematics: HG E / Level 4
- Mathematical Literacy: Level 5
Administration Fee: R150 (non-refundable). No cash accepted.
Training
The three-year Diploma in Nursing is presented at the Limpopo College of Nursing campuses:
- Giyani
- Sovenga
- Thohoyandou
- Sekhukhune
Upon completion, candidates will be registered with SANC as General Nurses.
Successful Candidates
- Will be contacted telephonically or via email.
- Will be required to sign a bursary allowance agreement with the Limpopo Department of Health.
