After two decades in the industry, Lily Allen has made her return — and she’s not holding back. Her first album in seven years has landed. West End Girl details the messy end of her marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour. The album suggests that her ex-husband cheated on her and that their marriage was, at least at one point, polyamorous.
Speaking to Vogue, she said: “I made this record in December 2024 and it was a way for me to process what was happening in my life. It is inspired by what went on in the relationship. There are things that are on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that’s not to say that it’s all gospel.”

So what actually went down between Lily and David?
The two met on celebrity dating app Raya, went public in 2019, and married in Las Vegas the following year. They even gave Architectural Digest a tour of their Brooklyn townhouse in 2022, looking every bit the smug, artsy couple. But by the end of 2024, things started to unravel. Rumours emerged that he had cheated with a costume designer, as reported by the Daily Mail. The way Lily reportedly found out was savage. According to Daily Mail sources, she redownloaded Raya and discovered he still had an active profile.
One insider claimed: “He broke up with Lily a month ago. He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.”
David never addressed the cheating rumours directly, but in a GQ interview earlier this year he brushed off any tabloid talk, saying: “I’m protective of the people and the reality of my life. There’s no use in that form of engaging because it’s all based on hysterical hyperbole.”

While they were together, David was stepdad to Lily’s daughters Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 12, who she shares with her ex-husband Sam Cooper. When Vogue asked if David would still be in the girls’ lives, Lily simply said: “You’ll have to ask him.”
The pair haven’t confirmed whether they’ve legally divorced, but it’s clear the marriage is done. The album paints a pretty grim picture of an open marriage gone completely off the rails.
David seems to have moved on quickly. Since the split became public at the start of this year, he’s been linked to 27-year-old aspiring model Ellie Fallon — who, yes, is more than twenty years younger than Lily.
