LEGENDARY jockey Ryan Moore’s 17-year-old son will make his big racing debut for arch rival Godolphin trainer Charlie Appleby.

Ballydoyle No1 and dad-of-four Moore – who is currently sidelined after riding with a broken leg – will watch the 4.05pm at Kempton proudly on Friday.

His boy Toby will claim 7lb when he takes to racing under rules for the first time on two-year-old filly Valdorcia.

Toby’s big break means three generations of the Moore family dynasty are active in racing right now.

Granddad Gary still trains alongside son Josh – and they remain in top form, firing in a double at Brighton on Tuesday.

But the future very much lies with Toby, who has impressed Appleby enough as an apprentice jockey at his Moulton Paddocks base to give him a ride.

Southampton boy Appleby is No1 trainer for Godolphin, the racing empire controlled by Sheikh Mohammed, the billionaire ruler of Dubai.

They are the biggest rival to Coolmore, the outfit who have all their horses with Aidan O’Brien, for whom Moore is top jock.

Young Moore, who posed alongside his dad after he won last year’s Derby on City Of Troy, has risen through the ranks of the pony racing circuit.

He has previously competed in the Shetland Pony Grand National and won showjumping titles.

He’ll be up against the likes of Arc de Triomphe-winning jockey Rossa Ryan on debut.

The six-furlong all-weather contest is a Class 4 for two-year-old fillies worth a shade under £6,000 to the winner.
