Bafana Bafana supporters were left frustrated during the first half in their must-win World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Hugo Broos’ men came into the match knowing nothing but a win would put them in a good position. Playing at a packed Moses Mbahida Stadium, Bafana saw much of the ball in the opening 10 minutes but failed to penetrate the stubborn Zimbabwean defence.
The Warriors grew into the game and had several shots at goal, testing Rownwen Williams. As the match went on, the likes of Sipho Mbule and Lyle Foster had chances to score but were closed down by the Zim defence.
Bafana fans not happy with the team
Social media users felt Bafana were not putting much effort into a Zimbabwe side which was already out of running for World Cup qualification.
“These line up is not make sure the middle is not creative, Tebza is not ON today, Mbule is hiding behind zim players. This foster thing is being forced to our face. Sithole guy is very slow moving ball forward but good defensively,” @GODinUs_ tweeted.
“We can do better, Foster is nonexistent or they don’t find him I don’t know. We need to just find the back of the net man and it’s coming” @mojalefa_leoli tweeted.
“Poor selection of players, including employment of team management, who failed to see accumulation of yellow cards!!! Mxm, we will be watching World Cup at home all of us,” @SunyeIsaac tweeted.
