About the Komatsu Bursary Programme 2026

The Komatsu Bursary Programme supports outstanding South African students pursuing studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. The initiative aims to develop future professionals who will contribute to innovation, sustainability, and industrial excellence.

Preference will be given to students from the Northern Cape, particularly those residing in the Gamagara and Tsantsabane Municipalities, though students from all provinces are encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the Komatsu Bursary 2026, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be studying towards a qualification in one of the STEM fields listed above (or another related STEM discipline).
  • Must be in your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study.
  • Must be studying at an accredited public Higher Education and Training (HET) institution in South Africa.
  • Preference will be given to students residing in Gamagara and Tsantsabane Municipalities (Northern Cape), though all eligible students may apply.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following supporting documentation:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID document.
  • Proof of tertiary registration (on institutional letterhead).
  • Full academic record (on institutional letterhead).
  • Proof of residence.
