American country singer Dolly Parton (79) has assured her fans that she is not dying and revealed that she is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed health issue.
In a video she posted on Wednesday, 8 October 2025, the “Jolene” hitmaker said , “The doctor said we need to take care of this, we need to take care of that, nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things so I could be closer to home.”
“I’m kind of having a few treatments here and there. But I wanted you to know that I’m not dying, ” Parton said.
This comes after the singer’s sister, Freida Parton (68), shared a post on Tuesday, 7 October, saying Dolly wasn’t well and asking fans to keep her in their prayers.
Following worldwide concern about Dolly’s health, Freida clarified her comments and said, “I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly.”
Health Issues
According to PEOPLE, on 17 September the singer missed a gig at her Dollywood theme park in Tennesse due to kidney stones.
“I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection,” the singer told her fans in a video.
Subsequently, on Sunday, 28 September, Dolly announced she was postponing her December concerts in Las Vegas due to health challenges.
“As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures, Dolly said.
