Ivanplats (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is developing a world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project near Mokopane in Limpopo Province. The mine uses state-of-the-art, mechanised underground mining technology to build the “mine of the future.”
Ivanplats offers a range of internship opportunities aimed at empowering Historically Disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA) from local mining communities. These internships provide two years of structured work experience, professional development, and hands-on training within the mining sector.

- Qualification: Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Accounting / Financial Management

Internship Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a relevant NQF Level 7 degree from a recognised South African tertiary institution.
- Be South African citizens residing in Ivanplats-recognised mining communities.
- Be medically fit and willing to work underground and on surface.
- Provide a letter from their Tribal Authority or Ward Councillor confirming residence.

- Grade 12 certificate and full academic transcript
- Proof of residence (from Tribal Authority / Ward Councillor)
Key Duties and Learning Outcomes
Interns will:
- Participate in mentoring and career development programmes.
- Gain experience in research, auditing, and optimisation of support systems.
- Assist teams with key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA).
Duration and Conditions
- Duration: Maximum of 2 years (based on performance)
- Work Environment: Underground and surface operations
