South Africans living in the UK showed up in droves to show their support for the Springboks, who played in Twickenham, which was casually named “Twickersfontein.”
The boys in green and gold beat Argentina for a second consecutive time, winning the Rugby Championship title back-to-back.
The squad will take a few weeks’ break before reuniting for the end-of-year tour in November.
SPRINGBOK FANS STORM TWICKENHAM
On Saturday, 4 October, South Africans stormed Twickenham to watch the Springboks defeat Argentina’s Los Pumas.
The 82,000-capacity London stadium – home of the English rugby team – was filled with a sea of green and gold rugby jerseys.
Twickenham is casually known as the Springboks’ “home away from home”, as the UK has the highest diaspora of South Africans.
From belting out the national anthem to dancing to Sister Bethina to chanting their favourite Bok’s name, Saffas living abroad were no doubt beaming with pride at the special occasion.
“It’s like Cape Town”, rugby commentator Jared Wright posted on his X account.
Naturally, winning the Rugby Championship for a consecutive year was the cherry on top.
The Springboks won four out of their six games to clinch the title, securing the top spot above Argentina, Australia, and the New Zealand rugby teams.

Meanwhile, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi thanked fans at Twickenham for cheering on the team.
He also used his post-match interview to unite South Africans through their love of rugby.
