ITHUBA, operators of the national lottery in South Africa, have confirmed that one lucky player scooped the PowerBall jackpot on Tuesday evening.
One lucky South African is nearly R179 million richer this evening after correctly predicting the five numbers drawn – as well as the bonus ball.
The as-yet unnamed player won an incredible R178 955 240.90, one of the highest-ever jackpots won in South African lottery history.

The PowerBall Plus numbers drawn were 2, 3, 16, 17, 35 while the bonus ball was 5.
Following the win, the PowerBall jackpot now stands at an estimated R5 million for the next draw on Friday, 23 January.

Remember, if you want to win your share of the jackpot, you have to play! As they say, you’ve got to be in it, to win it.
