Students at Northumbria University recently experienced disruption after a technical issue within the university’s Office365 system. The problem, which prevented users from saving and creating new data, was reportedly due to quota issues. This prevented students from uploading work to the university’s online system.
The issue was quickly acknowledged by the university’s IT department, who sent emails to students addressing the problem. Within 24 hours of this email, full functionality was restored to the affected software.
In recognition of the disruption caused, Northumbria University extended submission deadlines for students who may have been affected by the outage.
The university has thanked students for their patience and understanding while services were being restored.
