About the IDC Internship Programme 2025–2027
The Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa Limited (IDC) is a state-owned national development finance institution committed to promoting industrial growth and job creation. Through its Internship Programme, the IDC provides unemployed graduates with structured, supervised, and practical workplace experience for a period of 24 months.
This programme aims to develop future talent, enhance employability, and give participants access to real-world business operations, mentoring, and networking within one of South Africa’s most impactful public entities.
Programme Objectives
The IDC Internship Programme is designed to:
- Develop a pipeline of skilled individuals for key business areas and sectors.
- Provide unemployed graduates with the opportunity to gain hands-on workplace experience.
- Enable graduates to apply academic knowledge in real-life professional settings.
- Offer mentorship, networking, and career guidance from industry experts.
Qualification and Experience
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35 years.
- Must have completed a qualification in:
- BCom Accounting or
- BCom Financial Management (specialising in Management Accounting)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must not be studying at any institution or participating in another internship or learnership programme.
- Must be willing to undergo competency-based interviews and background checks (criminal record, qualification verification, and citizenship confirmation).

Successful candidates will be required to sign a 24-month fixed-term employment contract with IDC.
