I’m a single mum-of-four but save hundreds every month & still enjoy luxuries like haircuts and eating out – here’s how

WHETHER it’s saving coupons or yellow-sticker deals, many eagle-eyed shoppers are often on the lookout for clever ways to cut back on costs.

And if you’re one of them, you may just want to listen up! That’s because one savvy mum-of-four named Charlene Woracker has been flooded with praise after sharing the clever ways she saves hundreds of pounds each month.

Taking to TikTok (@@mummybudgets), the frugal mum on a budget begins by explaining how she stockpiles on food and household products.

“It makes weekly meal planning so much easier, and I buy in bulk when there’s an offer which shes me in the long run,” she explains.

“It’s also super convenient – it’s like having a mini shop in your house.”

Next up, the money-saving mum explains how she meal preps all of the family’s snacks and makes everything from scratch.

“It’s saved me a fortune,” she admits.

“It’s so quick and easy to make your own snacks and it’s also healthier for the kids.”

And while many of us don’t think twice about spending a small fortune at the hairdressers, Charlene has other ideas.

Instead, she’s turned to YouTube to teach herself how to cut and style her own hair.

“I cut colour and install my hair extensions myself,” she says.

“I also do my own acrylics. Most of this stuff is easy enough to learn from YouTube videos.”

Rather than breaking the bank on pricey days out, Charlene goes on to explain how when her kids are bored, she takes them to parks and does outdoor activities.

“I never eat out,” she continues. “The only place that I make the exception for is Ikea.”

As for slashing prices on her food bill, Charlene explains: “I started doing fresh Mondays with Uber eats every week which saves me 50% on fresh food, making it easy to budget £40 for my weekly shop.”

Other clever money-saving tips Charlene swears by includes never having a takeaway and always cooking at home, and never purchasing a takeaway coffee.

“I bought a Tassimo machine and its saved me so much money,” she explains. “The Costa pods are amazing,.”

She adds: “This lifestyle might not be for everyone but I prioritise holidays experiences, school trips abroad, and supporting activities my kids want to do more than materialist things.”
