Jack Osbourne got deeply emotional on I’m A Celebrity, opening up about the death of his dad, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.
In a heart-to-heart with campmate Lisa Riley, Jack admitted his dad’s passing in July wasn’t expected so soon: “I mean we knew he was sick for a while but it was definitely a shock, I mean we didn’t know it would be that quick. It was the ultimate mic drop, he did a massive big gig and was like, alright I’m done.”

Ozzy played a farewell performance with his band Black Sabbath at Birmingham’s Villa Park just days before he died. During the performance, Ozzy was seated throughout, as a result of the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.
Jack grew visibly emotional around the campfire as he reflected on what his father would think of him doing the show, saying: “He’d be so supportive of this.”
Later, in a one-on-one Bush Telegraph interview, he added: “I’m still navigating it all … It’s been three, nearly four months … so it’s still pretty fresh.”
He also opened up elsewhere about how he first learned the news. While in Los Angeles, he was woken at 3.45 am by a long-time family employee.
“When I looked through my window … I just knew something bad had happened,” he told HELLO.

Jack also reflected on the “perfection” of his father’s final weeks. In an interview with NME, he recalled a happy, almost celebratory week after Ozzy’s final show, saying his dad seemed “in an amazing mood” and “so grateful”.
Back in August, Jack posted a heartfelt tribute to Ozzy, saying he felt “so lucky … to be a part of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad’”. He quoted Hunter S. Thompson, “‘Skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke …’, that was my dad … he lived life fully”.
While Jack said before going on I’m Celebrity that there are “certain things” he might not discuss on national TV, his grief has clearly been close to the surface. He was comforted by actress Lisa Riley in the camp, who referred to Ozzy as having “the legacy of legacies”.
