We’ve reached the very first sofa session of the series, and drama is afoot already. Anita Barker is still bashing both Paul the expert and Paul her husband for their takes in that MAFS UK commitment ceremony.
In the commitment ceremony, Anita was not exactly complimentary of her new husband Paul. Anita told the MAFS UK experts she’d experienced “no emotional connection, no communication” with Paul. She said: “He’s on a self-discovery journey, and I’m on a love journey.” The experts Paul and Charlene argued that those aims weren’t mutually exclusive. Paul suggested she’d put her husband into a box of being emotionally unavailable. Anita wanted to ditch the MAFS UK experiment, but her husband chose to stay.
Anita is now complaining about the experts’ advice, and her husband Paul… all of it, really.

She wrote on Instagram: “I didn’t agree with Paul the expert saying a self-discovery journey was the same as a love journey, especially in an experiment like this. (Even if I did agree with him on the sofa.)
“I was drained and done that week with pouring energy into an empty space. How can you build a connection with someone who is emotionally switched off but wants to find love? How do you take advice from someone who only sees the picture and nothing outside the frame?”
She asked her followers if they agree with Paul (the expert), and advised them to “hang on in with” her.

Paul’s response to all this has been rather different. This morning, he posted a pic of him and Anita on their wedding day, with the caption “Lovely day, lovely lady,” and absolutely no other context. He did share his thoughts on the Ryder Cup, though.

Things aren’t exactly looking great for Anita and Paul’s relationship. On Instagram, she thanked someone who said she deserves better than Paul.

Is that a clue Anita and Paul are no longer together after MAFS? Other MAFS UK contestants are already dropping hints about their relationship statuses. I can’t wait to find out.
