Zizo reflects on love and loss

South African television personality Zizo Tshwete reflects on life without her beloved mother, speaking candidly about her ongoing journey through grief.
“Life without your best friend here in person is challenging. I don’t want to lie,” Tshwete shared. “I’m so blessed to have known the love Mama had for us. I miss so much about her being here every single day. I’m grateful for every second I had with her. I’m just missing her so much.”
The former Selimathunzi presenter announced her mother’s passing in November 2024. Since then, she has been open about how difficult the grieving process has been, while expressing deep gratitude for the support surrounding her.
“Without making it an idol in your life, don’t underestimate the impact that grief can have on you,” she said. “Always ask for the kind of support that you need as you navigate it. I’m so grateful for my support system. I’m not judged or rushed through it in any way. I am held up in absolute love.”
Tshwete also shared a heartfelt prayer for others experiencing loss.
“Thinking of and saying a prayer for anyone who has lost, in the physical, someone they really love. May you be comforted in all the ways that you need. Sending you love.”
