Curry’s is offering customers the opportunity to trade in their unwanted tech in return for at least £10 in vouchers to spend in store.
With the offer already underway, the vouchers can be redeemed on eligible purchases until 30th December.
Customers can cash them in either in store or online when they spend a minimum of £50.
Cash for Trash vouchers were previously worth £5, but, Curry’s have now increased their value to help shoppers save some extra pennies.
As well as earning a bit of extra cash, trading in the items also allows customers to safely dispose of their unwanted electronic items.
If the items traded in are thought to be of higher value than £10, customers will benefit from the Curry’s trade in programme.
The programme offers gift cards or money that fairly matches the device’s value.
The last financial year saw customers pocket an average value of £137 through the initiative.
The Cash for Trash initiative is part of Curry’s mission to give tech a longer life.
The items collected are either refurbished, repaired, harvested for parts, or responsibly recycled.
The tech retailer also has a repair and recycling centre in Nottingham, where it efforts to tackle the UK’s growing e-waste crisis are continued.
Currys’ Chief People, Communications and Sustainability Officer, Paula Coughlan, said: “We’re delighted to double the reward customers can earn when they recycle their old tech, bringing this enhanced offer to customers for the second time this year.
“We’ve all got a part to play in solving the UK’s e-waste crisis and through our pioneering Cash for Trash scheme, Currys can play an important role in raising awareness, improving recycling rates and helping customers earn a little boost ahead of Christmas.”
Circular Economy Minister Mary Creagh added: “This Government’s Plan for Change is committed to cleaning up Britain and creating an economy where things are built to last and recycled when they no longer work.
“That’s why I welcome Currys’ Cash for Trash campaign as it’s a great way to get those old electricals out of our drawers and cupboards and cut the cost of new products.”
The Sun has also reported on more ways to trade in your unwanted gadgets for cash.
