Here are the iconic costumes Exeter students have worn this Hallo-week

It’s officially less than a week until October 31st, and Exeter students have already gotten the festive memo. Exeter Uni knows how to do Halloween right – probably thanks to the countless costumes saved up from TP Wednesdays.

In my opinion, the Halloween season starts on October 1st – it’s never too early to start dressing up! I espeically love how creative everyone’s costumes have been this year. Say goodbye to the classic devils and angels, and hello to a deer in headlights.

Without further ado, let’s have a look at all the creative Halloween costumes Exeter students have worn so far this year (and for some last-minute outfit inspiration):

Greenscreen men

Starting off strong, we have the greenscreen men. This is truly one of the most hilarious group Halloween costumes I have ever seen.

Imagine walking into a party and you just see a sea of green, faceless figures – it’s even more amusing than it sounds.

Alvin and the chipmunks

A classic group costume that never gets old: The chipmunks. It’s such an easy and fun way to dress up for Halloween – and you definitely won’t need to explain who you are.

Just pick the chipmunk that best matches your personality and go nuts!

A deer in headlights

This couples costume is one of those you’ll see in the club and wish you’d thought of first. It’s cute, clever, and simple enough that you won’t have to spend your entire student loan to pull it off.

Kiss, marry, kill

Next up, we have kiss, marry, kill. This is one of those group costumes that works fabulously together, but also just as well if you’re on your own!

It’s instantly recognizable, super fun to play around with, and gives you so much room to get creative with outfits and personalities.

Patrick Bateman and Cinderella

I never thought I’d hear these two icons in the same sentence, but here we are. I love both of these costumes – as different as they are, both girls absolutely stole the show. 10/10.

Tate McRae and Britney Spears

Two of the most iconic pop icons – Tate McRae and Britney Spears. This is the most unbeatable pairing I never thought I needed.

Considering Tate is often seen as Britney’s metaphorical “daughter,” and both are absolute powerhouses on stage, this combo just works perfectly.

Sumo wrestlers

So far, I’m loving the commitment from groups of guys going all out this year. Next up: Inflatable sumo wrestlers. An instant classic.

This costume is perfect if you want to be the funniest – and probably the biggest – people in the room. Bonus points if you actually try to sumo wrestle on the dance floor x

Greek Gods

From Exeter Classics Society, we got sent a photo of their group costume as Greek gods – and it’s so wholesome. I love how everyone went all out with the gold and white tunics; they really nailed the theme.

Mark and Jez

Last, but definitely not least, we have a more niche costume: Mark and Jez from Peep Show. This was such a refreshing take; I love when people think outside the usual trends.

It’s perfect for a pair of best friends who want to stand out and show off some costume creativity!
