While it’s still the beginning of November, the festive season is fast approaching, which comes with its own set of gift-giving stresses.
Maybe you’re unsure what Christmas gifts to get your loved ones this year, and want something more crafted and unique. Why not try local?
Here are three markets in Cape Town where you can do your Christmas shopping early, and some you can visit this weekend too.
The Gift Fair at The Baxter
The Gift Fair is held at the Baxter Theatre Centre and takes place from 5 to 9 November. You’ll find a bit of everything here, from accessories, interior decor and more. With delicious foods available too, you can make a day of it shopping locally.
Cape Gift Market
The Cape Gift Market at the Seapoint Civic Centre runs from 14 to 30 November. It offers a large variety of crafts and goodies to choose from. Additionally, you can enjoy their food and drink options. The entrance and parking are free.
Edgemead Christmas Market
The Edgemead Christmas Market is held at the Edgemead Community Hall. It runs from 29 to 24 December. It’s a renowned annual market that offers a selection of goods from over 200 crafters.
While the three suggestions above are a good starting point, there are many more markets in and around Cape Town. All offering unique gift ideas and a space where you can make a day, or rather a weekend, of shopping and supporting local artisans.
