Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, in partnership with Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations, invites suitably qualified students to apply for the 2026 Full-Time Bursary Programme.
This initiative provides five (5) bursary opportunities to students pursuing full-time studies at accredited South African Universities or Universities of Technology.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen as defined in the South African Citizenship Act 88 of 1995
- Reside within Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be a matric learner meeting minimum entry requirements OR a current 1st, 2nd or final-year student
- Must not be receiving any bursary or student loan
- Must be historically disadvantaged and financially in need
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Mathematics & Physical Science Level 5 (60%) or above for Science/Engineering fields
- 60% overall average for all other fields of study
- Applicants must be promoted to the next academic year—no bursary for students who fail
- Preference for historically disadvantaged groups
- Meeting means test requirements
- Only public institutions accepted (No private colleges/universities)
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Proof of University/University of Technology acceptance for 2026
- Certified copy of ID document
- Affidavit confirming parent/guardian income / social or pension grant
- Certified Grade 12 results
- Certified full academic record (if already studying)
- Proof of admission to tertiary institution
- Proof of residence within Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
