In an inspiring moment of reflection, Andy Maqondwana encouraged her listeners to look back at the year they’ve had, considering the challenges they overcame and the people they met, and share which award they think they earned for 2025.
“It’s been quite the whirlwind of a year, 2025. What award do you think you deserve? You deserve it, you’ve earned it this one.
“Looking at the year you had, the things you’ve experienced, whether it’s with your colleagues, with your friends, with family, with just everybody and everything all encompassed in this year that is 2025, what award do you think you deserve to be receiving as we end off this year?” Andy asked.
In a surprisingly funny twist, one listener shared she deserves an award for being the best ex-girlfriend.
“The one award I deserve, and I earned, is the best ex-girlfriend. Ndamshiyumfana! I’ve been complaining, and I’ve been saying the day will come when I will no longer care, and you’re gonna go into shock mode. Did he not go into shock mode!?”
Meanwhile, Bhut’ Jabu from Grasmere tugged at our heartstrings when he said he deserves the best survivor award.
“I’m an ex-cancer patient, Sis Andy, bendihleli kwi wheelchair ndine spinal cancer but manje sengikwiremission.
“I stayed one full year es’bhedlela kahle kahle,” Jabu added.
