Fill up on stocking fillers at Sainsbury’s with toys reduced to 88p each

BARGAIN hunters are racing to Sainsbury’s after eagle-eyed shoppers spotted stocking-filler toys on sale for just 88p, a huge saving on their usual price of £3.49.

The miniature models, part of a collectable series of 12, are being snapped up fast, with some stores already wiped clean.

Each box contains a ‘mystery’ Formula One-themed Lego car, featuring iconic branding from motor sport giants like Ferrari and Mercedes.

The toys are a hit with kids aged six and up, and are usually sold full price at Sainsbury’s, the Lego website and other major retailers.

One shopper took to Facebook to share her disappointment after missing out at her local store.

“Empty boxes only in my Sainsbury’s, absolutely gutted as I’ve just started collecting these! 88p!

“Check your local Sainsbury’s you might be lucky!”

As word spread in bargain-hunting Facebook groups, some shoppers shared their success.

“Nearly a full box at my local, bargain to get them all!” one wrote.

Others were gutted to hear about the savings they missed out on, with one commenting: “I paid full price when they came out and got the set. This hurts me.”

With a saving of nearly 75%, fans are being urged to act fast before shelves are cleared completely.

Shoppers are being told to check in-store, as the 88p price tag does not currently appear online.

Stock levels are likely to vary depending on location, with some stores already selling out.

Lego describes the toys as a fun and fast build for young Formula One fans.

The website says: “Kids aged 6 and over can enjoy a quick and easy build before hitting the racetrack to enjoy fun with these models.”

Each of the 12 collectable cars comes with a mini helmet in the cockpit and moving wheels, so kids can stage their own races at home.

Similar demand has been reported at other retailers, with Home Bargains drawing attention for its range of stocking fillers priced from under £1.

Shoppers were particularly delighted to see Jacqueline Wilson books and various editions of the Christmas classic game HedBanz, all on sale for less than £2.

These budget-friendly options have proven popular with shoppers looking to fill Christmas stockings without overspending.

Home Bargains have also restocked the £5.99 Jaffa Cakes dispenser which quickly went viral when it launched last year.
