South African rapper Emtee has issued a public apology following backlash over his performance at Abidoza’s One Man Show in Pretoria, where fans expressed disappointment over his limited stage presence.

In a statement released by his team, eMtee Records acknowledged that the performance, which took place on Reconciliation Day on 16 December, was affected by artist fatigue following an exceptionally demanding schedule.

According to the statement, Emtee had committed to an ambitious run of shows on the day, performing at five different venues across the country. While the schedule was intended to allow him to connect with as many fans as possible during the busy summer season, the pace ultimately took its toll.

“Unfortunately, the demanding pace impacted his ability to deliver the high-energy show our fans expect in Pretoria,” the statement read.

The apology comes amid speculation from some fans who questioned whether the rapper may have been intoxicated during the performance. However, his team attributed the incident solely to exhaustion following back-to-back appearances.

eMtee Records acknowledged the disappointment experienced by fans and expressed gratitude for their continued support and understanding. The label added that Emtee is deeply remorseful for falling short of expectations and is committed to making amends.

To address the situation, the team confirmed that they are working closely with event organisers to arrange a follow up performance in Pretoria, giving fans another opportunity to experience what they described as the unforgettable show they deserve.

“At eMtee Records, we prioritise the wellbeing of our artists and the satisfaction of our fans, while driving the business forward with strategic performances,” the statement concluded.
