Popular South African DJ and producer Chymamusique has revealed he recently underwent emergency brain surgery following ongoing health complications, months after being involved in a fatal car crash.
The musician took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the emotional news with his fans, explaining that he had undergone a craniotomy—a surgical procedure used to access the brain, often to relieve pressure or remove damaged tissue.
In his post, Chymamusique detailed his challenging recovery, stating:
“I couldn’t share my journey for the past week due to emergency brain surgery called Craniotomy. My brain, and speech and body are still disturbed so I won’t be able to take calls or really talk in person for the next 2 to 3 weeks. See you on the other side.”

He also shared a photograph showing his head stitches, giving followers a glimpse of his difficult ordeal.
The latest surgery is believed to be linked to complications stemming from a horrific car accident he survived earlier this year.
The accident tragically claimed the life of fellow DJ Poizen, and Chymamusique himself was hospitalised and required several procedures for serious injuries at the time.
Following the announcement, an outpouring of support has flooded social media from fans and fellow musicians, all sending prayers and words of encouragement to the star as he recovers.
