Cotton, a 44-year-old broadcaster and author, has never publicly confirmed if she shared a romantic relationship with Watkins.
Reports first emerged in 2005 about the pair’s love life after they were pictured arm in arm enjoying a night out together.
Watkins, the former frontman of Welsh band Lostprophets, was seen as a heartthrob at the time.
Yet almost a decade later, Watkins was jailed for 35 years over a string of sickening child sex offences.
The disgraced rocker shocked the music world when he stood trial for 13 offences against children, including the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was described in court as a “determined and committed paedophile” before he was shipped off to the notorious HMS Wakefield.
Cotton has never spoken out about the rumoured fling and went on to get married to musician Jesse Wood.
The pair tied the knot in 2014 in a intimate ceremony attended by celeb pals, such as Denise van Outen, Holly Willoughby and Keith Lemon.
They welcomed their first child together, Rex, in 2013, followed by daughter, Honey, in 2015.
A decade after they married, Cotton announced they had split on Instagram.
She penned: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.
“Our priority has been and always will be our children. We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time.”
What happened to Ian Watkins?
Watkins found fame in 2000 with Welsh band Lostprophets and went on to sell more than 3.4million albums worldwide.
He was the poster-boy of the band and attracted a huge cult following.
But the rock world was stunned by his arrest as he admitted to preying on fans, including two who offered up their babies to be abused by their idol.
The sick rocker filmed himself committing sex acts on a baby boy the day after Lostprophets final album Weapons was released.
Watkins was charged in 2012 and sentenced the following year.
He was seen as a target throughout his spell behind bars and was frequently attacked.
On Saturday, October 11, 2025, he was fatally ambushed and knifed in the neck by another lag at HMP Wakefield.
Police and medics raced to the Category A prison in West Yorkshire as the shamed singer was airlifted to hospital.
Watkins was pronounced dead shortly after arriving after being hit in the jugular and bleeding out, sources confirmed.
