Australian police said on Sunday they were responding to a developing incident at Sydney’s Bondi Beach and were urging the public to avoid the area.
The Sydney Morning Herald said there were reports of multiple shots fired at the famed beach, but it was unclear if anyone had been hurt or killed.

“Police are responding to a developing incident at Bondi Beach and are urging the public to AVOID the area.
“Anyone at the scene should take shelter. Police are on scene and more information will be provided when it comes to hand,” the New South Wales police posted on X.
Videos circulating on X appeared to show people on Bondi Beach scattering as multiple gunshots and police sirens can be heard.
