Purpose of the Internship
The purpose of the Finance Asset Office Internship is to provide graduates with hands-on experience in:
- Accounting processes
- Asset management
- Financial reconciliations
- Audit preparation and compliance
Interns will work under supervision and mentorship while performing real accounting and administrative duties within the Finance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Successful interns will be responsible for:
- Processing financial transactions under supervision in line with policies, procedures, and legislation
- Performing financial account reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
- Preparing and attaching supporting documentation for asset additions and journal entries
- Ensuring correct allocation and accounting of fixed assets
- Following up and resolving finance-related queries from divisions, clusters, or custodians
- Maintaining accurate records of journals, asset additions, disposals, transfers, reconciliations, and verification documents
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial closure processes
- Conducting physical verification of assets, including scanning barcodes and QR codes across CSIR sites
- Performing follow-up visits to departments for verification and information gathering
- Creating and maintaining a clear audit trail for all financial documentation
- Managing quarterly document filing to ensure audit readiness
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience

- A three-year Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance
