The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Department of Environmental Infrastructure Services, invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its Internship Programme 2025/2026.
Internship Application Closing Date: 22 October 2025
Internship Location: City of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
Stipend: R10 109,86 per month (Basic salary, no benefits)
Duration: 18 months contract
This exciting opportunity is aimed at equipping young graduates with valuable hands-on experience in the public sector environment. The internships will run for a period not exceeding eighteen (18) months, and successful applicants will be required to sign both an internship and employment contract, committing to full participation in the programme.

1. Internship: Registry & Archiving
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Studying towards a Diploma or Certificate
Duties:
Provide administrative and document management support, including classification, registration, scanning, saving, filing, retrieval, and disposal of obsolete records in line with legislation. Assist with office administration and ensure efficient information flow within the department.
Skills & Competencies:
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail and time management

2. Internship: Finance
Requirements:
- National Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Management Accounting / Finance or equivalent
Duties:
Assist with accounting procedures, procurement processes, creditors/debtors account management, stock control, and record-keeping in compliance with MFMA and CoJ supply chain policies.
Skills & Competencies:

Requirements:

Duties:
Provide administrative assistance including filing, scheduling, correspondence, and report preparation. Maintain accurate employee data, support compliance audits, and assist with HR and Health & Safety documentation.
