The celebrities were thrown in the deep end as they battled it out in a grave digging challenge just minutes into the launch episode.
It was then time for Claudia to make her traitors selection.
After a tense wait at the roundtable room, Claudia touched the shoulders of Jonathan Ross, Alan Carr and Cat Burns – meaning they were the chosen ones, while the rest will become Faithfuls.
But it didn’t take long before Alan to slip up.
Alan immediately began planting seeds, telling the rest of the group that he thought Celia Imrie and Claire Balding were the traitors.
In a confessional, Jonathan admitted he’s going to need to be “nimble” if he stands a chance of getting away with it.
While Kate Garraway tried to suss out who the traitors were, putting the spotlight on Cat.
While comedian Joe Wilkinson left Alan sweating as he quizzed him, but telly host Alan just laughed it off.
One viewer wrote: “Alan as a traitor is such a hilarious move from claudia . he’s panicking already.”
A second posted: “Alan is going to have a breakdown.”
A third said: “Alan Carr is giving me anxiety,” while this person wrote: “Alan Carr is gonna give himself away too easily I reckon.”
This viewer shared: “Alan Carr is going to give it away for sure. The other two will throw him under the bus.”
Another added; “Alan will give himself away in 5 mins.”
The group then returned to the individual lodgings, but not before the three traitors met in person for the first time.
Wearing their cloaks, Jonathan and Cat headed towards a secret round table room in the castle.
They were then joined by TV presenter Alan, completing the trio.
Jonathan said: “We were just saying we’re glad it’s just two, but I’m gladder now we’ve got the trump card.”
“I think going in tomorrow we’ve got to be like ‘thank god no one got murdered’,” Cat said.
Claudia then joined the traitors and revealed that their first murder will be in plain sight.
The celebrities will compete to win for £100,000 to donate to a charity of their choice.
Also in the line-up are Clare Balding, Jonathan Ross, Tameka Empson, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson and Kate Garraway.
Paloma Faith, Mark Bonnar, Cat Burns, Ruth Codd, Niko Omilana and Lucy Beaumont and David Olusoga.
The Sun revealed bosses have already decided Celebrity Traitors’ fate, before the show has even aired.
The last civilian run, which aired in January, attracted huge ratings of seven million per episode.
A source said: “The Celebrity Traitors is landing at the very peak of the format’s popularity, it’s the biggest show on the box, globally, and the cast is exceptional.
“Everyone knows something would have gone incredibly wrong if this didn’t become the TV event of the year.
“The official message is that a formal recommission depends how well series one does, but in reality it’s all but a done deal.
“Celebrities have already been sounded out on appetite to join.”
How does The Traitors work and who hosts it?

The Traitors first launched in the UK in 2022, after the Dutch format was acquired by the BBC.
Claudia Winkleman is the show’s host, and has now hosted all three series to date.
How does it work?
It is a reality game show that involves 22 contestants, and some of them are chosen to be The Traitors.
The Traitors sees a group of contestants taking part in “the ultimate game of truth and deception”.
The group of contestants are competing for the chance to walk away with a huge cash prize.
While navigating through a series of challenges, the team are also tasked with figuring out who the Traitors are in the group (usually three contestants).
Each night, the Traitors gather to “eliminate” one of the Faithful, removing them from the competition
Meanwhile, the traitors can be “banished” if they’re successfully outed as a traitor by a faithful.
The winners of the show are either the Traitor who remains undetected or the Faithfuls if they successfully eliminate all the Traitors.
The prize sees the winner could get £120K.
