The closest you’ll get to driving an F1 car goes under the hammer as road legal Mercedes hypercar can hit 218mph
A SUPER speedy sports car that can clock more than 200mph is set to go under the hammer.
On the road, one blink and you’ll miss the F1 Style Mercedes-AMG One.

The vehicle – which is the closest any driver can get to an F1 car on a normal street – is set to go under the hammer.
The 2024 hyper car is just one of 275 models built, with monstrous speed and power.
With a championship winning F1 derived 1.6 litre turbo-charged V6 engine and four electric motors, the supercharged car has 1063 horsepower.
The car can clock in 218mph on the road at top speed, going from 0 to an unbelievable 125mph in just seven seconds.
F1 cars travel at about 235mph.
The engine has come straight from the winning W06 racer driven by F1 icons Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in 2015.
The AMG-One also holds the Nürburgring production car lap record at six minutes and 29 seconds.
According to Luxury Auto News, the car has just 61 miles on the clock.
Aesthetically, the car is also a work of art.
With a black exterior, teal highlights and STAR Motorsport graphics, the interior features black Alcantara, exposed carbon fibre and bucket seats.
The car also features an F1 style multi-function steering wheel.
SBX Cars in Dubai is hosting the auction, with sale offers opening on September 30.
A spokesperson from SBX Cars said: “There are motor-sports inspired cars, and then there is the One”.
“Perhaps the most audacious vehicle to ever depart the Affalterbach workshop, it is a study in superlatives,” they said.
“The engine has effectively been transplanted from the W06 racer, piloted by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg to F1 glory in 2015.
“Today’s exquisite example is one of them and is practically brand new.”

The auction comes as another Mercedes-Benz favourite has been abandoned by the luxury car manufacturer.
The model on its way out has been described as “faultless” among motorists.
The iconic car maker has revealed it is to introduce the entry-level hatchback when it discontinues the popular A-Class, according to Autocar.
It comes just days after the company said one of its legendary SUVs was being reborn as a cheaper model.
The new hatchback, which will be available as an EV and as a combustion engine, is expected to be on sale shortly after the A-Class is discontinued.
