I decorated my front garden for Halloween but my petty neighbour complained that my display was triggering

A WOMAN has been slammed by her neighbour for getting into the spooky season.

She revealed she had decided to decorate her front garden, using baby zombies and skeletons to celebrate Halloween.

But it turned out not everyone was a fan of her decorations[/caption]

The woman’s sibling took to Reddit to share the situation with others and see who was in the wrong.

They wrote: “So my sister enjoys getting into the Halloween spirit and putting creepy decorations in her yard.

“One of those decorations happens to be a skeleton zombie baby.

“Well, apparently, this is super inconsiderate because sometimes babies die, and this trauma could be re-lived when someone sees a plastic zombie baby.”

In the post, shared to the Entitled B**ch forum, they shared the note their sister received from a neighbour.

The note read: “Dearest Neighbour, Happy Autumn! I can see you are preparing for fall time and the holidays.

“I do, however, humbly ask you to reconsider your Halloween decor. I walk to feel peace and for my mental health – so naturally, I was passing through your neighbourhood earlier.

“My peace of mind disappeared upon seeing the skeletons bearing the zombie baby.”

The note writer revealed that her brother had died as an infant and the decorations had triggered her.

She continued: “My brother died as an infant. His death was many years ago but I haven’t forgotten. The pain of his loss is very real. Because of this, the undead baby decoration nearly broke me apart.

“Hours after, as I write, I continue to feel disturbed. I am not the only one affected – in 2021, the CDC reported nearly 20,000 infant deaths!

“Struggling with this loss is something many people
quietly suffer with… even in this very neighbourhood.

“Imagine if it was your child. Imagine the anguish, the hurt, the emptiness that your heart and your home would feel!…

“Considering all this, please take down those Halloween decorations.

The Top Five Reasons Neighbours Squabble

One study by Compare the Market revealed the top reason British neighbour's argue

  1. Broken fences – top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix it
  2. Parking: one of the leading drivers of neighbour disputes, with 54.1 per cent of people having issues with people parking in front of their house, parking bay or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree cracking your garden path was also common with nearly half of participants finding it frustrating
  4. Bin wars – outdoor bin etiquette continues to ignite the most furious debates between neighbours
  5. Nosy Neighbours – some people have their eyes and ears at the ready to have a peek causing problems for others

“Doing so will make our neighbourhood feel safe and comforting again. Of course, we can still celebrate the fall time season!”

The post went viral on the page and many took to the comments to share their thoughts, shocked by the neighbour’s request.

One person wrote: “It’s not ok to expect other people to cater to your trauma. Girl needs therapy.”

Another commented: “My grandparents passed away many years ago so please don’t celebrate Halloween ever.”

“Your skeleton decoration offends me, my grandma is a skeleton,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Tell your sister to put several more skeletons with zombie babies.”

“Someone else’s trauma isn’t your reason to stop putting up Halloween items,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “I would immediately put up MORE zombie babies.”

‘I’m ASHAMED’ – Ex-Team USA Ryder Cup captain apologises for ‘rude’ home fans as Europe clinch thrilling New York win

FORMER Team USA Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson has apologised for the New York crowd’s heckling of Europe stars.

Players including Rory McIlroy were made to withstand a hostile environment at Bethpage Black.

McIlroy, 36, told a heckling fan to “shut the f*** up” during a tense exchange on Saturday.

His wife Erica Stoll was then shockingly struck by a drink the following day.

Europe held a commanding lead after the first two days of action.

The USA launched an improbably late fight back, but went on to lose 15-13.

Eight-time major champion Watson, who captained the Americans to Ryder Cup victory at The Belfry 32 years ago, was gracious in defeat – while also slamming his own team’s rowdy supporters.

The 76-year-old wrote on X, “I’d like to congratulate @RyderCupEurope on their victory.

“Your team play the first few days was sensational.

“More importantly, I’d like to apologize for the rude and mean-spirited behavior from our American crowd at Bethpage.

“As a former player, Captain and as an American, I am ashamed of what happened.”

McIlroy was asked about the hostile crowd on Saturday.

“You do have to focus on the task at hand,” the Northern Irishman said.

“I think in the team format, foursomes and fourballs you can stick together with your partner which makes it easier.”

McIlroy had to put up with chants of “f*** you” Rory throughout the weekend.

While he and wife Erica were both showered with personal abuse.

‘A VERY, VERY STRONG WOMAN’

Following Europe’s victory, McIlroy added, “It should be off-limits, but obviously it wasn’t this week.

“Erica is fine. She’s a very, very strong woman.

“She handled everything this week with class, poise and dignity like she always has.

“I love her and we’re going to have a good time celebrating tonight.”

McIlroy’s pal Shane Lowry, who also had a bust up with fans, added, “I was out there for two days with Erica McIlroy, and the amount of abuse that she received was astonishing.

“The way she was out there supporting her husband and supporting her team was unbelievable, and kudos to her for that.”
