Jack Grealish transfer news: Everton new favourites to land Man City outcast ahead of Spurs, Napoli and Villa return

JACK GREALISH’S time at Manchester City looks to be coming to a close this summer.

The England star was left out of the final matchday squad of the season for ‘selection’ reasons by Pep Guardiola and looks set to be excluded from the Club World Cup squad too.

We told you how Napoli were monitoring the 29-year-old, who scored just one goal in 20 league appearances in the season just gone.

Given his creative influence, it’s been a far from prolific season given he managed just one assist in that time also.

Guardiola was quick to snap back at suggestions he wasn’t happy with the winger, leading to his exile from the final game.

He said: “It’s nothing personal with Jack.

“I am the person who fought for him to come here. I am the one who said ‘I want Jack Grealish’.”

The Serie A champions are still firmly in the mix according to the bookmaker odds but they’re no longer favourites.

In fact, it’s David Moyes and Everton – priced at 4/1 – who are the new frontrunners to land the £100million man.

Odds from bet365

  • EVERTON 4/1
  • Napoli 5/1
  • Tottenham 5/1
  • Aston Villa 5/1
  • Stay at Man City 5/1
  • Newcastle 6/1
  • Any Saudi side 8/1
  • Milan 12/1
  • Nottm Forest 16/1
  • Arsenal 25/1

Moyes looks poised to bolster his attacking options, with links in recent days with Liverpool’s Ben Doak and ex-Newcastle and Fulham man Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Grealish – who has the same agent as Toffees’ shot-stopper Jordan Pickford – would likely have to take a significant wage cut for that move to materialise.

Napoli are then joined in the bet365 market at 5/1 by Champions League side Tottenham and a return to boyhood club Aston Villa.

He experienced a bit of a mixed reception having made the £100million move away from Villa Park in 2021, though that seems to have settled and the fans would be sure to welcome him back.

RON THE MOVE?

Ronaldo backed to join Messi in MLS after Al-Nassr hint, Man Utd return 25/1

Villa’s recent attacking options and strength in depth has helped them compete deep in Europe and back amongst the Champions League spots again this term.

While Ange Postecoglou has struggled for consistent options out wide, particularly on the left, and would be a welcome addition.

To remain at Man City is also a 5/1 shot but it’s probably correct to say that should have a 0 in it, given he was left out the Club World Cup side.

Newcastle also have Champions League football and are 6/1 shots, with a move to Saudi 8/1 and it’s 12/1 bar.

Chilling CCTV released in frantic search for woman, 33, who vanished from trip to Hyde Park with pals 3 months ago

POLICE have issued CCTV footage in the hopes of finding a woman who went missing three months ago.

Portia Vincent-Kirby, 33, disappeared on February 21 at around 8.45pm after seeing friends in Hyde Park, London.

Police have issued an appeal for any information relating to her[/caption]

Portia was reported missing on March 13, prompting police to begin trawling CCTV footage in a bid to trace her

The last confirmed sighting of her was at the Blind Beggar pub in Whitechapel on Friday March 14.

Portia, who is single and lives alone in a flat in North Finchley, is described as slim with blue eyes and shoulder-length dyed blonde hair, but often wears a baseball cap.

The sociable, outgoing young woman ran as the Green Party candidate for Hendon, North London, in 2019 – with her brother saying “she’s not the kind of person who just vanishes“.

Her family are urging her to contact them, after it was revealed by police her phone and bank cards have not been used in weeks.

Her mum, Janina said: “We are all very worried as Portia is very vulnerable.

“Portia has not been in contact with or seen by any family or friends since February.

“We appeal to the public for anyone to please come forward if they know anything about her or her whereabouts.

“We also appeal to Portia directly, please get in touch with any of your family or friends.”

PC Harjinder Kang, from the Met’s north west missing persons unit, added: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Portia’s safety, as this behaviour is out of character for her.

“We urge anyone who may have seen her to contact police.

“Officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries in an effort to trace her and we are now turning to the public for help.

“Please get in touch if you can help us locate Portia.”

Speaking previously, her brother Max, 31, said: “She’s got a master’s degree, she’s an intelligent girl, she’s not the kind of person who just vanishes.

“It’s like she’s dropped off the face of the earth.

He added: “She is very much her own person, but she has lots of friends.

“We reported her missing on March 13 after we realised none of her friends had seen her in weeks.

“The police were then able to look at her bank cards and phone, they can check when it was last used unlike using the ticks on Whatsapp to see if messages were delivered.

“They found out that they hadn’t been used for nearly three weeks, since the start of March.

“Who doesn’t need money for nearly three weeks? Even if you’d met someone you’d go out and get coffee or something, it just doesn’t make sense.”

Portia also has strong links to Medway, where she is from.

Police would urge anyone with information on her whereabouts to call police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting 01/7262039/25.

Amanda Holden appears NAKED on radio just days after Ofcom complaints over BGT dress

AMANDA Holden has stunned radio fans after appearing to turn up to work completely naked.

The star looked totally nude on the live stream of Heart FM’s Breakfast Show – and it even left her co-host Jamie Theakston doing a double take.

Amanda‘s wardrobe faux pas came just 24 hours after it was revealed both hers and Alesha Dixon‘s risqué dresses from the Britain’s Got Talent Live Final had sparked Ofcom complaints.

Sitting in her DJ hot seat on Thursday morning, Amanda looked across at a monitor for the live stream and admitted: “Good morning, Mr Theakston.

“It is 6.30am and I’ve just caught myself on the camera and don’t you think I look naked this morning? Sat behind here?”

Stuttering, Jamie replied: “Do you know what… You are wearing clothes, aren’t you?”

Laughing, Amanda told her co-host: “I just looked and went, ‘What? Have I forgotten to put my clothes on?'”

With her blonde hair loose around her shoulders, it did look as though Amanda, 54, was in the buff.

The only thing visible was a chunky string of pearls around her neck featuring a gold heart.

But Amanda was in fact wearing clothes.

The glam mum-of-two was pictured outside Global’s studios in London after the show had finished in a pale pink strapless dress made of suede.

Her figure-hugging frock fell at the knee and Amanda had teamed it with nude court shoes and a matching handbag.

She also popped on a pair of sunglasses, despite the wet weather in the capital.

The Sun revealed on Wednesday how ITV had been hit with a flurry of complaints following the BGT final.

Television watchdog Ofcom received 96 complaints in total about the live finale – with 72 relating to Amanda and Alesha’s skin-baring dresses.

Amanda chose to wear a long, white gown with dramatic cowl neck for the telly extravaganza – and had just a very skimpy bra underneath.

Alesha, meanwhile, wore a sheer floor-length dress that gave fans of the show a good look at her underwear.

At the time, one viewer had complained on X: “Love the show, but what a shame that Amanda and Alesha have to dress like they are going to some special nightclub.”

Another fumed: “Catching up on #BGT and what is Amanda wearing? Not really appropriate for a family show.”

A third compared Amanda’s dress to a “tea towel”.

The remaining complaints were about language used by Bruno Tonioli and Simon Cowell, the winner of the competition Harry Moulding, and Joseph Charm’s act.

Amanda is no stranger to baring the flesh and deliberately chooses outfits that show off her incredible figure.

Speaking to The Sun at the BGT premiere, she cackled: “I constantly scroll through Instagram when I’m on car journeys and bombard my stylist with loads of ideas.

“It’s thigh splits and cleavage.

“I have a whole ‘t*t committee’ [in the production team] that watches everything [to prevent ‘accidents’].”

Major building society with 400,000 customers makes big change to 37 accounts TODAY – do you need to switch?

A MAJOR building society with 400,000 customers is making a big change to dozens of accounts from today.

Newcastle Building Society is dropping rates on 37 variable rate savings accounts.

It comes after the Bank of England (BoE) cut its base rate from 4.5% to 4.25% last month.

This rate is charged by the BoE to smaller high street banks on loans, with any fall usually mirrored in savings rates.

Newcastle Building Society is reducing rates on the 37 personal savings accounts by 0.25 percentage points.

The Double Access Saver/ISA (Issue 4) will drop from 4.05% to 3.80%, for customers eligible for a bonus interest rate.

Meanwhile, the Newcastle Cash Lifetime ISA (Issue 3) will fall from 2.70% to 2.45%.

The Newcastle Direct Saver Plus will fall from 2.50% to 2.25% for those getting interest paid annually and making less than five withdrawals.

While the Client Deposit account will drop from 2.50% to 2.25% as well.

Customers with fixed-rate savings accounts won’t see interest rates fall today.

Interest rates on two variable rate savings accounts – the Loyalty Saver (Issue 1) and Quadruple Access Saver/ISA (Issue 1) – will also not change as they have only been available to customers since April 24.

You can view the table above to find out how the interest rate on your savings account has changed.

Or, you can visit www.newcastle.co.uk/savings/manage-your-savings-account/interest-rates and click on “Current and Closed Issue Variable Savings Interest Rates”.

MAJOR BANKS CUTTING RATES

A host of banks are reducing interest rates on savings accounts as the BoE continues to cut its base rate.

HSBC cut rates on eight of its savings accounts on June 3, joining NatWest and Nationwide.

Nationwide cut interest rates on over 60 savings accounts on June 1 including a number of ISAs and easy access accounts.

NatWest also reduced rates on a number of accounts at the end of May.

It comes after the BoE cut its base rate from 4.50% to 4.25% on May 8.

The central bank raises its base rate to discourage people from spending and encourage them to save, which in turn is designed to make inflation fall.

It lowers its base rate when inflation is under control, meaning people are encouraged to spend and pump money into the economy.

A lower base rate signals good news for those with mortgages who see the interest rates charged on them fall.

However, it’s usually bad news for those with savings accounts as banks slash interest rates.

If you’re with Newcastle Building Society and have seen the interest rate on your savings account drop, you could switch to a new savings account paying a better rate.

It’s worth looking on price comparison websites like MoneySavingExpert.com and MoneySupermarket.com to find the best options for you.

How to get the best savings account

Knowing which savings account to choose can be confusing with so many different types out there.

The one that suits your needs the best depends on your personal circumstances.

For example, hundreds of thousands on Universal Credit can save money through a Help to Save account.

These accounts pay you 50p free for every 50p added, up to a maximum of £25 a month.

The interest on these accounts is paid out after two and four years after which point the account is closed.

But, maximise your pot over those four years and you’d earn £1,200 free cash.

For those with more long-term savings goals, a fixed-rate ISA might be the best option.

These tend to offer better interest rates than cash ISAs and any earnings are tax-free.

Meanwhile, for people who have a small amount they want to start saving away, a regular savings account might be best.

They usually pay out higher interest rates than easy access savings or current accounts.

For example, MoneySavingExpert.com says Principality Building Society is currently offering a regular savings account at 7.5% for the first six months and the best easy-access savings account is with Plum which is offering 4.85%.

One disadvantage of regular savings accounts is that the interest rate can be reduced if you don’t add cash in every month or you need to make a withdrawal.

SAVING ACCOUNT TYPES

THERE are four types of savings accounts fixed, notice, easy access, and regular savers.

Separately, there are ISAs or individual savings accounts which allow individuals to save up to £20,000 a year tax-free.

But we’ve rounded up the main types of conventional savings accounts below.

FIXED-RATE

A fixed-rate savings account or fixed-rate bond offers some of the highest interest rates but comes at the cost of being unable to withdraw your cash within the agreed term.

This means that your money is locked in, so even if interest rates increase you are unable to move your money and switch to a better account.

Some providers give the option to withdraw, but it comes with a hefty fee.

NOTICE

Notice accounts offer slightly lower rates in exchange for more flexibility when accessing your cash.

These accounts don’t lock your cash away for as long as a typical fixed bond account.

You’ll need to give advance notice to your bank – up to 180 days in some cases – before you can make a withdrawal or you’ll lose the interest.

EASY-ACCESS

An easy-access account does what it says on the tin and usually allows unlimited cash withdrawals.

These accounts tend to offer lower returns, but they are a good option if you want the freedom to move your money without being charged a penalty fee.

REGULAR SAVER

These accounts pay some of the best returns as long as you pay in a set amount each month.

You’ll usually need to hold a current account with providers to access the best rates.

However, if you have a lot of money to save, these accounts often come with monthly deposit limits.

Reality star rushed to hospital just days after giving birth and reveals she’s been on a drip for three days

A REALITY TV star has been rushed back to hospital weeks after giving birth – and praised her partner as her “knight in shining armour.”

The Made In Chelsea personality, who is married to fellow E4 show alum Oliver Proudlock, 36, likened her second maternity journey to being “in the trenches.”

Emma Connolly, 33, who appeared in the show briefly, and her spouse share two children – Levi who was born in March, and Bonnie Lou, three.

Yet her post natal experience has suffered a setback three months after giving birth to her son and she took to Instagram to reveal she’s in the medical ward.

It comes just days after her kids were in A&E with a sickness bug.

Emma captured an image of her spouse carrying two coffees to her hospital bed.

He proved the perfect multi-tasker, carrying little Levi strapped to his front and offering a beaming, get-well smile.

She wrote in her image caption: “My knight in shining armour,” before adding a series of Emoji love heart icons.

Emma then posted an image of her baby sleeping and outlined her medical ordeal in text on top.

She told how she was admitted to hospital with “chronic pain” and “flu like symptoms” before she added: “I was diagnosed with acute mastitis and ended up spending three days on IV antibiotics.”

She told how “absolutely incredible” Oliver was left at home to look after their toddler and baby.

Emma added: “It was honestly the hardest few days of my life and I really don’t say that lightly.

“But I’m so grateful for the amazing care I received and the amazing support from my Ol.”

Another social media slide showed her hugging a private midwife, dubbed The Post Natal Package, as she sat propped up on the pillows of her hospital bed.

In a lengthy message, model Emma wrote: “I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to this incredible woman.

“She was by my side for the birth of my son, supported me at home in those raw, early days and scooped me up without hesitation this week.

“I’ve called her more times than I can count, asking everything from ‘is this poo the right colour?’ to ‘are my boobs going to blow off?’ and never once did she make me feel silly or alone.

“She made me feel seen, supported, capable and confident when I needed it most.

“And she’s made me laugh more times than I’ve cried, which is saying a lot.

“I truly adore her. She’s been nothing short of an angel in my life.”

Yet she rounded off her posts with an image showing her lying on the hospital bed, with her little boy resting on her stomach.

Emma is now back at home recovering.

BABY NO. 2

Emma and husband Proudlock welcomed Levi in March.

Announcing the news, proud dad Proudlock said: “He’s here. Our hearts are fuller, our home louder, and our arms forever occupied.

“Levi Fox Proudlock, the perfect piece to complete our family of four.”

The couple are already parents to daughter Bonnie Lou, who was born in May 2022.

Oliver and Emma began dating in 2014 when she messaged him on social media about his earring after he’d appeared on Made In Chelsea.

They announced their engagement in August 2018 after Oliver got down on one knee during a romantic trip to Gothenburg, Sweden.

The pair’s wedding was postponed due to Covid lockdown regulations in 2020, with them eventually tying the knot during a small church ceremony in Fulham, London, on December 15 2020.
