Sunderland line up Man City star, 19, as Jobe Bellingham replacement as Dortmund transfer edges closer

SUNDERLAND want Manchester City kid Charlie Gray to fill Jobe Bellingham’s boots.

Talented midfielder Gray, 19, has a year left on his City contract and may look to move on for the chance of a first-team spot with the Premier League new boys.

Gray could replace Jobe Bellingham if he signs for Borussia Dortmund[/caption]

He has been on City‘s books since he was just eight and is yet to make his senior debut.

The teenager helped the club’s Under-21s win both the league and play-off phase of the Premier League 2 last season.

Described as a “calm, ball-playing defensive midfielder”, he also caught the eye in the youth Champions League as City reached the quarter-finals.

Gray could follow in the footsteps of stars like Romeo Lavia, Jadon Sancho and Jeremie Frimpong in leaving Manchester for senior football without a Prem appearance to their name.

It comes amid Bellingham departing Sunderland despite their promotion back to the top-flight.

Jobe, 19, is set to join Borussia Dortmund in a move that sees him take the same path as his brother Jude, 21.

The German giants recently sent a delegation to England for talks over a deal.

It has been reported that Sunderland want a fee of £25million for Bellingham.

He could become the second wonderkid to leave the Stadium of Light after play-off final hero Tom Watson joined Brighton for £10m.

Meanwhile, the Black Cats are ready to offer their homegrown star Chris Rigg, 17, an improved contract.

But keeper coach Tom Weal has made a shock exit to rejoin old club MK Dons.

The M&S dress to buy for summer & SIX ways to wear it that look totally different and cost just £7.50

If you want to make your wardrobe work harder then look no further.

As we are approaching summer, a dress you can wear for multiple occasions means you’re being cost effective and practical.

This dress from M&S ticks all the boxes, not only is the polka dot pattern bang on trend for this year, but the thick straps mean it’s bra friendly.

Plus the shape and fit means you can layer and wear for everything from the beach to the boardroom.

Here, Deputy Fashion Editor Abby McHale, shows you how to wear it six different times, meaning cost per wear is just £7.50.

WORK

Add a waistcoat or blazer for a smart office look[/caption]

This dress is great for the summer months if you’re heading to the office.

A great throw on midi dress so you don’t have to think too much about your outfit in the morning.

If you want to make it extra business, add a waistcoat as shown here.

This would also look great buttoned up to make the dress look like a skirt too for an extra style of outfit.

Pair with a tote bag and some kitten heels for a stylish yet practical look.

AT HOME FIT

A t-shirt worn over the top of the dress turns it into a midi skirt[/caption]

Yes you can wear a dress like this whilst being at home, it doesn’t have to be kept just for certain occasions.

Throw a t-shirt over the top to make it look like a skirt on the bottom half and add some flat shoes to keep it comfortable – you could even swap these for your slippers if you want to be even comfier.

Because the skirt isn’t fitted around the waist it makes it extra breathable and perfect for relaxing in.

EVENING OUT

This is the perfect dress to wear for an evening out[/caption]

Take your dress out on the town by accessorising to the max.

Add a blazer for extra warmth for the evening before adding your finishing touches.

Statement earrings can really add oomph to an outfit and don’t have to cost a fortune.

This applique floral bag from River Island also adds an extra layer of interest to your look without clashing with the star of the show – the dress.

RUNNING ERRANDS

Keep it low key with some trainers, trench coat and cross body bag[/caption]

Because the dress is nice and flowy it’s the perfect style to move around in.

By adding a jacket over the top like this cropped trench from Mango it makes the dress look and feel more casual.

A cross body bag means you’ve got your hands free and the great thing about this dress is that is also works well with trainers, like this pair from Next.

  • Jacket, £59.99, Mango – BUY NOW

LUNCH DATE

Don’t be afraid to mix prints like this floral striped neck scarf[/caption]

At first glance the brown polka dot pattern is a big nod to the infamous dress worn by Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.

So why not embrace the style, wearing the dress on its own with a few accessories to compliment.

Whilst the dress is patterned don’t be afraid to clash, this neck scarf from Joe Browns has a subtle pastel design so doesn’t detract from the dress.

Keeping the rest of the outfit simple with a neutral bag and shoes.

Heading somewhere sunny this summer? Don’t forget to pack this dress.

The light and airy fabric means it will keep you nice and cool, plus it will look super chic in a sunny climate.

I like to add a pair of cycling shorts underneath dresses like this for summer to make sure there isn’t any chafing.

Wear with flat slip on sandals, a raffia bag and a hat.

The scorecards revealed two judges had given Wardley just ONE round before the stoppage[/caption]

Fighting on home turf, Wardley was the heavy favourite going into the bout.

But Huni dominated from the off, taking control infront of a 20,000-strong crowd at a soggy Portman Road.

The Aussie was miles ahead on the cards as the fight entered the championship rounds.

From nowhere, Wardley delivered a towering right hand early in the 10th to seal a remarkable victory.

The judge’s scorecards made grim reading for the 6ft5 heavyweight prior to his stunning KO.

Wardley was down on all three cards, with two of the judges giving him just ONE round.

One fan gasped on X: “He was down bad too wow.”

Another said: “I didn’t give Wardley a round. The 1st round was close but I thought Huni nicked it with cleaner punches.”

While a third added: “These were very accurate scorecards in a hometown fight for once.”

Wardley’s promoter Frank Warren described the knockout punch as a “Deontay Wilder moment”.

The win propels Wardley into world title consideration.

It was his 18th knockout in 19 professional wins.

He said: “I don’t profess to being any [Oleksandr] Usyk or Justis Huni who has all the skills.

“But I know how to win fights and that’s one thing I knew I had to do tonight.

“Justis Huni is a great operator. We’d drilled everything over and over again.

“I should’ve performed better in some of those rounds.”

Huni replaced American Jarrell Miller on short notice.

The Australian suffered his first professional defeat after 12 consecutive wins.

Referencing the big KO punch, he said: “That’s my curse.

“I even said before this fight it only takes one second to switch off, it happened tonight.”
