World Cup of Darts 2025: Full schedule, results, start time, live stream, TV as Littler and Humphries CRASH OUT

ENGLAND will be represented by a double dose of Luke this week as Littler and Humphries pair up at the World Cup of Darts 2025 – and the action is unfolding RIGHT NOW!

The men’s England football team failed to bring it home during the Euro 2024, but Luke Humphries and Michael Smith made the nation proud in last year’s World Cup of Darts.

A combination of composure and superb throwing saw Cool Hand and Bully Boy beat their Austrian opponents 10-6 in an epic final.

And it was a result that wrote England’s name in the history books as they now hold the record for the most amount of wins in the iconic competition with five.

Sadly for Smith, his world ranking positioning meant he missed out on the chance to retain back-to-back titles.

And England could have done with him after Luke Littler and Humphries got dumped out by Germany in their opening match.

Welsh stars Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price are now firm favourites to lift the title.

Sabrina Carpenter fans only just realizing she’s a secret nepo-baby with HUGELY famous TV star family member

SABRINA Carpenter is a secret nepo-baby – and fans of the star are only just twigging.

The pop star, who is now a global sensation, has an extremely famous TV star relative.

Fans are only just realizing who her aunt is[/caption]

But do you know who her celebrity family member is?

Sabrina’s aunt is actress Nancy Cartwright – better known as Bart Simpson.

Nancy, 67, has been voicing cartoon character Bart for more than three decades, making it her longest-running acting role.

And as well as Bart, she also provides the voices of Maggie Simpson, Ralph Wiggum, Todd Flanders, and Nelson Muntz.

Nancy has a long list of other acting and voiceover credits to her name – some of which date back long before Sabrina was born.

As well as The Simpsons, Nancy has starred in movies including The Twilight Zone and Godzilla, and TV shows such as Cheers, 24 and The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

She also voiced the character of Chuckie Finster in the 90s Nickelodeon cartoon Rugrats.

Sabrina’s father, David Carpenter, is Nancy’s step-brother – and some fans have only just worked out the family connection.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person in the know declared, “Interesting side note for those who don’t know. Sabrina Carpenter‘s Aunt is Nancy Cartwright… Aka Bart Simpson.”

Someone replied, “I did not know that!”

Another person posted, “Just found out that the voice of Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) is not only a Scientologist but also Sabrina Carpenter’s aunt??”

A third said, “Sabrina’s aunt is Bart Simpson!”

And a fourth admitted, “How the f*** am I just finding out Sabrina Carpenter is Nancy Cartwright’s niece?”

‘Cool’ aunt

Nancy has actually confirmed her relationship with Sabrina in a TikTok video after being asked by a fan, “Is Sabina Carpenter your niece?”

Speaking last year, Nancy said, “Yeah, absolutely.

“Isn’t that amazing when you find out that somebody that maybe…

“You’ve known me for a little while doing this little 10 year old boy for, like, 35 some years. And for some of you guys, way less than that.

“And you find out I’m related to this, like, superstar!”

Nancy added, “She’s pretty amazing.”

Sabrina has also spoken about her aunt and said growing up with her voicing Bart Simpson was “the coolest thing”.

In an interview with Captial FM, she said, “My whole life, that was just like the coolest thing in the world to me. I wasn’t even allowed to watch the show until I was a little bit older!

“The woman is a woman of many talents, not just Bart. She always blows me away. “

Sabrina also revealed how Nancy would pull it out of the bag during family meals out.

“When we were in a restaurant, she didn’t do it all the time, but there were a couple of times when we couldn’t get a table and she’d be like, ‘Hey, man, I’m Bart Simpson. What the hell’s going on?'” she added.

Victim of shooting at ‘No Kings’ demonstration in life-threatening condition as cops confirm they have three in custody

ONE person is in a life-threatening condition after being shot near a ‘No Kings’ demonstration as cops confirm three are in custody.

Gunfire broke out near the march which was attended by over 10,000 people in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday night.

A man who was shot on State Street in front of the Liberty SKY apartment complex is in “critical” condition.

He collapsed on the ground and emergency responders performed life-saving measures until he was transported to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Officers attended the scene after hearing gunshots around 7:56 pm, Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd confirmed to reporters.

Those attending the demonstration, including reporters and photographers, were alerted to the incident by officers shouting “Gunman!” and “Man with rifle”, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

Witnesses were able to help identify the male suspect in the shooting who is in custody.

Redd confirmed that the suspect suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to hospital by cops.

It is believed he was shot before officers arrived.

Two others have also been taken into custody with cops not looking for anyone else in connection to the shooting.

The police chief praised the efforts of his officers saying their “rapid response ensured the safety of thousands of participants in the downtown Salt Lake City area”.

Organizers of the anti-Trump ‘No Kings’ demonstrations that were held across the nation on Saturday worked well with police, Redd said, and that prior to the shooting everything was peaceful.

“The violence that we’ve seen today in Salt Lake City and even in other parts of the nation is horrific,” Mayor Erin Mendenhall said, referencing the assassination of Minnesota Rep Melissa Hortman and the shooting of Senator John Hoffman.

“It is not who we are. Let me be clear this act of violence does not define our city.

“The purpose of today’s demonstration was powerful and a peaceful expression until this event and that cannot be overshadowed or silenced by a single act meant to harm.”

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing with a motive not yet released.

All three individuals taken into custody were involved in the shooting and appeared to be part of the protest, the police chief said.

On Saturday, at least 10,000 demonstrators took part in the march between Pioneer Park and the Federal Building.

Utah Governor Spencer Cox was briefed on the situation which he called “deeply troubling”.

“My heart is broken for everyone impacted tonight,” he said on X.

“Thank you to the thousands of protestors who exercised their constitutional rights in the right way tonight.”

The “No Kings” demonstrations attended by millions across the country to protest President Donald Trump came as he held a lavish military parade in Washington DC coinciding with his 79th birthday.

Shooter game loved by 10 MILLION is closing in days – fans warned they’ll have to pay for an upgrade to keep playing

AN ONLINE shooter game played by 10million at its peak will disappear from two popular consoles in a matter of days.

Developers behind the title want to focus on newer platforms, meaning it will shut down on some older devices.

But it will close on two consoles very soon[/caption]

As such, affected players will have to bite the bullet and pay to upgrade their console if they desperately wish to continue playing.

The game in question is The First Descendant a free-to-play multiplayer online role-playing looter shooter.

It first burst onto the scene last July on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

But almost one year on, and Xbox One and PS4 owners will be shut out.

Producer Beom-Jun Lee said the move was going ahead with “much reluctance”.

But studio Nexon says it was needed to make the game even better with its next “mega season update”.

There is one reassuring bit of news to come out of the shake-up.

Affected players can carry over their account details to any of other platform, so they need not lose everything.

The all-important date all users need to note is June 19 for the switch off.

Gamers have had mixed feelings about the upcoming overhaul.

OTHER GAME CLOSURES COMING UP

Here's what to watch out for...

  • Black Desert – June 26
  • Resident Evil ReVerse – June 29
  • Madden NFL 21 – June 30
  • Arizona Sunshine – July 1
  • Skyworld – July 1
  • Danmachi Battle Chronicle – September 29
  • WWE 2K24 – September 30
  • Madden NFL 22 – October 20
  • PGA Tour 2K21 – October 30
  • NBA 2K24 – December 31

“This game came out in July last year, why the hell did they even bother with a PS4 version to begin with if it wasn’t even going to make it a year?” one commented on Reddit.

“They shouldn’t have even bothered with PS4 support to begin with then,” another wrote.

A third added: “I feel sad for PS4 players but its a 12 year old machine its time to jump on ps5, last generation is hold this current generation of games back.”

WHY DO GAMES NEED TO CLOSE DOWN?

By Jamie Harris, Assistant Technology and Science Editor at The Sun

With most games online these days, tech companies need to maintain quite hefty servers to manage everything.

It’s no cheap business to operate with millions of gamers across the world.

Naturally, people move on, leaving older games behind in the process.

There comes a point where it’s no longer viable to continue offering server access so studios shut them down.

For some games that are entirely online this can render it completely useless.

But others may have a way for you to continue playing solo still.

You should usually see a prominent notification in the game warning you with instructions on what to do – provided you’re still playing the game of course.

They’d made him some cookies and left a note, and each sweet treat had been personalised with an icing picture.

EastEnders star Jacqueline captured the sweet moment as Dan was surprised with the cakes.

She also posted a photo of the former Towie star and his two daughters, Ella and Mia.

Jacqueline wrote over the top of the snap: “Happy Father’s Day @danosborneofficial – the best daddy ever.”

The heartfelt post comes after a tricky time for the married couple.

Recently, The Sun revealed how Dan, 33, and fellow reality star Christine, 37, comforted one another amid their marital woes.

Dan had joined Christine for raucous nights out that helped lift her spirits after her split from radio and TV host husband Paddy.

At the time, reality star Dan was still building bridges with Jacqueline over previous cheating claims.

Our source said of Christine and Dan’s texts: “She is absolutely adamant nothing sexual happened between them.

“She also was 100 per cent single at the time and could chat to anyone she wanted.”

Former Towie star Dan is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were “deep fakes or AI” when asked.

But putting on a united front, Dan and Jacqueline revealed they had enjoyed a weekend in Ireland recently.

Sharing the pictures on Instagram, the couple looked happy as they spent time with their children.

They could be seen enjoying country walks and some family time.

George Russell’s X-rated message after Canada pole sets up another battle with Max Verstappen

GEORGE RUSSELL secured pole to set up a tasty battle with old foe Max Verstappen — then roared: “What a f***ing lap!”

It was the first pole for the Mercedes driver this season.

Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri trailed Russell in qualifying[/caption]

And it reignites the battle with bitter rival Verstappen, who joins the Brit on the front row and will be desperate to get past him from lights out in today’s Canadian Grand Prix.

Oscar Piastri finished third — but it was a horror show for his McLaren team-mate Lando Norris, who was down in seventh.

Russell said: “It was awesome. To get the pole, that last lap was one of the most exhilarating of my life.

“This lap is mighty and to cross the line in P1 was a real surprise — but I was so chuffed with it.”

It was sweet revenge for Russell, who was deliberately driven into by Verstappen in Barcelona last time out.

That earned the Dutchman three points on his licence — and the four-time world champion now needs to be on his best behaviour in Canada this weekend as he is just one penalty point away from suspension.

When asked about Verstappen, Russell added: “We’re mates, it’s all good.

“I’ve got a few more points on my licence to play with!”

George Russell's post-pole reaction: "What a f***ing lap!"

George Russell couldn’t contain his delight with his incredible lap[/caption]

The row clearly did not put Verstappen off his stride.

The 27-year-old said: “I felt good all weekend — the car was actually in a good window.

“I’m very happy with qualifying. I’m already very happy with what we achieved to be on the front row.”

Norris was the culprit of a major cock-up in Q3 as he went well wide on his first lap in the final session and failed to record a lap time.

The big error from the McLaren driver meant he had to have two more goes at recording a lap time, having already put their tyres through their paces.

Italian teenager Kimi Antonelli bagged fourth, while Lewis Hamilton made it into fifth ahead of sixth-placed Fernando Alonso.

It came down to the wire and pole position could not be called as Russell fired a warning shot, notching the fastest time in Q2 just ahead of Norris.

Verstappen showed you can write him off at your peril as he flew into provisional pole ahead of Piastri in the final session.

Yet Aussie Piastri said: “After how practice went, I’m pretty happy with myself at the moment.

I’m already very happy with what we achieved to be on the front row.

George Russell

“I’m pretty happy with third, which is a bit different, but I’ll take it here.”

Alex Albon’s engine cover bizarrely flew off his Williams six minutes into Q1 and brought a red flag so debris could be cleared from the track.

The cover flew off down the back straight and he nearly lost control into the final chicane due to less downforce.

And there was beef between Carlos Sainz and Isack Hadjar in the first session as the Williams driver was booted out in 17th as he felt the Racing Bulls rookie “massively impeded him”.

Williams team principal James Vowles said: “It’s frustrating. Disrupted session, but we had a fast car.

“That’s just a car that’s staying on line and clearly not aware of what’s around him.

“Hadjar, I’m sure, will receive a penalty. We will focus on Alex now.”
