Shoppers run to B&M as gigantic garden slide is slashed to just a tenner

SHOPPERS are racing to B&M to snap up a gigantic garden slide, scanning for just £10.

With a heatwave set to hit parts of the UK this week, and the hot weather looking like it’s here to stay for the foreseeable, kids will likely be desperate to get outside and play in the sun.

And whilst taking the whole family out to water parks and adventure playgrounds can be pricey, B&M fans have spotted the perfect bargain that’s bound to keep the kids entertained all summer long.

Sharing his find in the B&M Scanner And Other Bargains! Facebook group, a private group with 328,000 members, the bargain fan said: “Yesterday’s find at B&M.”

Attached to the post was a picture of a Gigantic Garden Slide, originally priced at £50.

A sale sticker had been placed on the box, to say it had been reduced to £30, however, when the shopper got to the till, it had been reduced to just £10.

The bargain buy is six feet long when inflated and promises “slip’n, slide’n fun”.

It is suitable for children over three and includes a battery operated pump.

B&M said: “Unleash the fun in the sun with this epic giant inflatable slide!

“Watch as the kids’ smiles reach new heights – It’s the ultimate entertainment for endless summer fun.”

Shoppers raced to the comments section of the Facebook posts to tag their friends and share the bargain with them.

One shopper pointed out that the slide is from last year’s stock, so may not be available to buy in your local.

And the slide isn’t the only B&M bargain shoppers can get their hands on this summer.

Bargain lovers across the UK can now snap up the Palm House Leaf Stem Metal Wall Art for just £1.50 in-store – down from £3 – giving their gardens a budget-friendly glow-up just in time for summer.

Whether you’re creating a lush retreat or just want to hide that tired old fence, this bit of wall art does the job for less than the price of a coffee.

According to the manufacturer, it “brings fun and charm to your garden” and is perfect for adding character without the need for heavy DIY work.

Why B&M is so good for bargains

SENIOR Digital Writer, Abby Wilson, who loves a shopping trip to B&M, has shared her thoughts on why the chain is the place to go for bargain buys...

WE all love B&M (especially me). It’s a one-stop-shop where you can nab all things from gardenware and homeware, to snacks and cleaning supplies.

Not only do we love the variety B&M offers (because after all, who can be bothered to go to five different shops anymore?!), but the prices are brilliant too.

If you’re on a budget, B&M is definitely worth vising – as it’s full of cheap bargain buys.

Not only will you find affordable items, but B&M is full of dupes too – so if you’re after beauty buys without the designer price tag, you’ll need to take a trip.

Similar to this, the chain are eager to get on trends – so if you see something in H&M Home but are on a budget and can’t justify the price, give it a few weeks and you’ll probably spot something similar on the shelves in your local B&M.

The retailer has recently slashed prices on a range of outdoor products, including a luxury gazebo now reduced to £100, down from £125.

And the bargain store recently sent shoppers into a frenzy, by selling children’s toys for just £1.

Keep in mind that retailers are allowed to price products differently across their stores.

Make sure you’re shopping around to get the best price.

Price comparison websites like Trolley, Price Spy and Price Runner show you different prices for items across various shops.

Love Island fans convinced they know who’s going home as TWO boys battle it out

LOVE Island fans are convinced they know who’s going home as TWO boys battle it out.

Last night the girls were given the power to decide who they wanted to recouple with – with two of the guys now left fighting for a place in the villa.

The girls then stood up to make their decision one by one and pick their guy – until only Shea and Blu remained.

However, in a MAJOR twist Dejon then received a text which read: “Blue and Shea, you are now single. Between you both you should now decided who should stay and who should go.”

But both lads said they determined to stay.

Blu confidently said: “I ain’t f****** leaving,” as Shea echoed: “I ain’t either.”

The episode then ended, and caused fans watching at home to come up with a theory about who they think will go home.

Taking to Twitter/X, one fan said: “Surely Shea should stay and let Blu go home.”

While another added: “Please can someone escort Blu off the premises.”

This one said: “Blu has been in the villa for 4days and did nothing pack you bags sir!”

VILLA CLIFFHANGER

Meanwhile, Love Island fans slammed last night’s episode ending on such a cliffhanger.

This is because they now have to wait until Sunday night to see if Blu or Shea goes.

The credits started to roll as the two single boys stood in front of their fellow Islanders at the fire pit.

But ITV2 viewers were left annoyed at the cliffhanger.

One wrote: “Damn you and your cliffhanger shizzle.”

“Here comes the cliffhanger,” with a meme of someone looking angry.

Another said: “Hurry up with the Recoupling I’m not dealing with a cliffhanger today I’m not in the mood.”

Someone else shared a clip of furious looking Homer Simpson and said: “YOU BETTER NOT LEAVE US ON A CLIFFHANGER!!!”

THE VILLA IS HEATING UP

Last night’s provided plenty of surprising moments.

Fans were left convinced Harry and Helena had sex after just three days into the show.

The Sun revealed this week that the pair spent the night together in the hidden suite.

They sneaked away to the Hideaway for some alone time and enjoyed multiple kisses.

They struggled to keep their hands off each other and Harry then pulled the covers over their heads.

The following morning, Harry and Helena told the rest of the Islanders that they just had a kiss and a cuddle.

But viewers watching at home think the pair got up to a lot more than that.

One wrote: “Having sex on international tv on day three???”

A second posted: “Is Harry and Helena going to have sex on day three and isn’t even in a couple?”

A third commented: “Harry and Helena having sex, really?!”

The Sun previously reached out to ITV for comment.

‘Jack Grealish where are you?’ – Erling Haaland heartbroken with Man City set to break up bromance by selling £100m ace

HEARTBROKEN Erling Haaland has taken to social media to ask about his missing pal Jack Grealish.

Haaland flew out with the Manchester City squad for the Club World Cup in the United States, with their first game commencing next Wednesday against Moroccan side Wydad AC in Philadelphia.

However, there was the notable exception of £100million outcast Grealish.

The 29-year-old has been left out of Pep Guardiola‘s 27-man travelling squad for the tournament – while their four new summer signings worth £112m have all been included.

It’s understood Grealish has been told he no longer has a future at the Etihad, and the decision to leave him out of the Club World Cup squad is designed to help the party boy find a new club.

But it seems his absence is already being felt by some of his team-mates, including talisman Haaland.

The Norwegian struck up a huge bromance with Grealish at City since joining from Borussia Dortmund three years ago, and he directly called out the attacking midfielder in a Snapchat post.

Posting on his story for his 1.2 million followers on the account, Haaland posted a selfie of himself on a jet wearing a club shirt and sitting on branded seats.

He was seen wearing headphones, but the angle of the photo showed an empty seats with bags on it next to the 24-year-old.

Haaland then captioned the photo: “Jack Grealish where are you,” followed by a crying cat emoji.

Funnily enough the answer to the striker‘s question was answered on Grealish’s Instagram page.

On there he posted a video on his story of himself with his legs dangling over the ocean before panning the camera up to show a stunning view out to sea with and yachts dotted across the harbour.

He captioned the post: “Peaceful,” followed by an emoji of a man getting a massage.

Previously speaking about he and Haaland’s friendship, Grealish said: “Everyone is different, aren’t they?

“Look at Erling. He is the best professional I have ever seen. We have a great friendship but he will point at me after a game and say, ‘Hey, don’t you go out tonight partying’.

“His mindset is something you won’t see again. He does everything. Recovers. In the gym. 10 hours of treatment a day. Ice baths. Diet.

“That’s why he is what he is. But I swear I couldn’t be like that.”

Haaland also expressed his love for Grealish after winning the Premier League in 2024, screaming “I f***ing love you” as he interrupted an interview with Sky Sports.

SunSport understands City are willing to sell Grealish for £40m, less than half what they paid to land make the former Aston Villa star the then most expensive English transfer of all time in 2021.

Grealish’s lack of minutes saw him miss out on selection for Thomas Tuchel‘s latest England squad.

But the German boss warned Grealish he needs to be playing regularly to be in contention for next summer‘s World Cup squad, which is also in North America.

SunSport exclusively revealed how Grealish was being lined up for a £300,000-a-week loan transfer by Newcastle, while Erik ten Hag‘s Bayer Leverkusen were also eyeing him as a possible replacement for Florian Wirtz – who is set to join Liverpool in a record-breaking £126m deal.

Met Office warns of ‘torrential downpours’ & MORE thunderstorms in hours after drivers stranded & streets underwater

BRITS are being braced for further flooding chaos as the Met Office warns of more “torrential downpours” and thunderstorms.

Yellow weather alerts warning of potential danger to life are in place across the country from 3pm today to 8pm tomorrow.

Residents struggle to stop flooding in Plymouth on Thursday[/caption]

Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said that much of Friday would be “hot and humid”.

He added there was a “small chance” temperatures could reach a scorching 30C.

“A good chunk of England and southern Scotland will be dry for most of Friday,” Mr Deakin said.

He added that Wales and parts of the west of England could be hit by some “beefy showers” following “a humid start to what will be a very warm day for some on Friday”.

The Met have issued a yellow weather warning for London, Wales, England’s east and south east, east and south west, as well as the West Midlands.

“It will be cooler in the far south west, particularly as the heavy downpours arrive in the afternoon,” Mr Deakin said.

While many areas within the warning zone may escape severe weather, torrential downpours could bring 30–50mm of rain in a short time before conditions ease on Saturday morning.

Cardiff, Plymouth, Bath, parts of Greater London, Brighton and Norwich were among the areas included in the warning.

Up to 80mm of rain could fall on Saturday with storms bringing thunder and lightning.

Huge swathes of the UK, including the south west, West Midlands and the North, along with Wales and Northern Ireland, will be placed under a yellow warning.

The Met Office have warned there is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.

It comes after drivers were forced to abandon their cars and battle knee-deep water across the south west of England yesterday.

Locals in Plymouth, Devon, were spotted struggling to stop water gushing into their homes and businesses after heavy rainfall.

And drivers were seen battling through knee-deep floodwater as bins floated across the roads after downpours hit.

Winds of up to 50mph battered hills and coastlines as the Met Office warned drivers to “watch for possible danger” on roads.

Plymouth Highways confirmed two road closures, saying: “Gdynia Way is currently closed in both directions due to flooding”.

It added: “Kings Street is currently closed due to flooding near the junction with Western Approach.”

The city’s Theatre Royal was also been forced to close due to floods.

James Mackenzie-Blackman, TRP’s Chief Executive and Artistic Director, said: “The torrential rain has required us to close the Theatre Royal today as we continue to deal with a significant flood into our basement.

“Our priority is the safety of our staff, our artists, visitors and participants.

“We will confirm if any public performances are impacted as soon as we can.”

Lidl is selling faux olive trees to add a decorative touch to your home – they’re cheapest around & look incredibly real

SHOPPERS are rushing to get their hands on a faux olive tree from Lidl.

The budget retailer is offering affordable ways to bring a touch of the Med into your home.

The Livarno Home Artificial Olive Tree is selling for £20 at Lidl[/caption]

The Livarno Home Artificial Olive Tree is currently available for £19.99 online and £19.06 in Lidl stores.

Lidl claims the small tree is a “detailed replica with natural colours”.

It stands 118cm tall and comes in a pot with an 18cm diameter.

Meanwhile, Ikea is selling a 149cm artificial potted olive tree for just £25.

“This artificial plant is made of plastic, of which at least 50% comes from recycled materials,” the Swedish retailer claims.

On the pricier end is Dunelm‘s version, costing £100.

Dunelm’s artificial olive tree stands at 140cm tall – thanks in part to an added 15cm from its oven basket-style plant pot.

For those after a statement piece, Costco is offering a 6.5ft faux olive tree in a French-style crock planter for £150.

The product description reads: “This exceptionally realistic Olive tree will thrive perfectly anywhere, every season.”

But if you’d prefer the real thing, you can always plant an olive tree.

Though native to the Mediterranean, olive trees can thrive in the UK – as long as they’re given sufficient care.

Sunlight and shelter

  • Olive trees do best in a sunny, sheltered location.
  • They can tolerate intense sunlight and drought.
  • But they typically struggle in extreme cold and high winds.

Watering

  • Water potted olive trees regularly from mid-March to late October.
  • Water your tree until water comes out of the bottom of the pot.
  • In hot, dry weather, you may need to add more water.
  • Reduce watering for younger trees, and stop watering established trees in the winter.

Drainage

  • Ensure your tree has adequate drainage.

Pruning

  • Prune the tree back each year to encourage good leaf growth.

Winter care

  • Wrap your tree over winter to keep the harsh wind out.
  • Give your tree extra protection if cold snaps are forecast.

Fruiting

  • Olive trees need at least three months a year of cold weather to flower and fruit.
  • Temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, along with a fluctuation in night and daytime temperatures initiate the fruiting process.

How I find 10p B&M bargains – the six tricks you NEED to follow to find them too

BARGAIN shop B&M is a treasure trove of bargains – but you could save even more by arming yourself with the shop’s scanner app.

Super shopper Sam Penney has snapped up gadgets from vacuum cleaners to headphones for as little as 10p thanks to the nifty tool.

Midnight Garden Faux Fur Luxury Rug tag with price and details.
Sam bagged a 10p rug from B&M after discovering it was heavily discounted using her B&M scanner app

The full-time mum-of-two shops regularly at her two local stores every two days, and runs the Facebook group B&M Scanner And Other Bargains.

She set up the group in 2019 so she could share her scanning tips.

Now the community has grown to 328.k members, who post about the deals they have found in store.

“B&M is great – it sells everything you need, like snacks for the kids and household stuff,” Sam said.

The secret to bagging the best deals is to use the B&M scanner app.

It can be found on the B&M Stores mobile app, which you can download for free from the App Store or Google Play.

There’s a “scan” button on the bottom of the homepage on the app.

Simply point your phone’s camera at an item’s barcode, and the app will automatically bring up the price.

If an item’s price hasn’t been updated on the shelf, the app will tell you – and it’s a great way of hunting out the best bargains.

Here’s Sam’s top scanner tips – and other tricks to make sure you’re saving money in store.

Always scan last items in stock

If you spot just one last item left on the shelves, always make sure to scan it, says Sam.

Because it’s the last one, it may have been discounted in price.

“If something looks out of place on the shelf or it’s the one, scan it on your phone to check the price.

“My biggest bargain was a floor steamer for 10p, which originally was £60.

“It was one left sitting randomly in the store, so I scanned it but the app said the product wasn’t found, so I went to the till to check the price.

“I then discovered it was 10p. I thought it was brilliant – I gave it to my mum.”

Check the packaging

If the same item has different packaging, make sure to scan it, says Sam.

Sometimes, manufacturers will update the packaging of an item.

This might mean that if the same item is in the old packaging style, then it may have been discounted to make way for the new stock.

“I got a window vac for £1 last year – I spotted that there was the same model of window vac but in different packaging compared to others on the shelf,” Sam said.

“When I scanned the window vac in the different packaging with my phone, it was listed as £1, whereas the others were £20.”

Red and white stickers

You may have heard of yellow sticker items, but B&M puts red and white stickers on discounted products to tell customers what the new price is.

These stickers are not usually used by B&M, Sam said, but it is worth keeping an eye out for them when you’re next shopping in store.

If you spot a sticker item, it’s worth scanning it with your app.

This is because the price may have gone down again.

Go on Wednesday morning

The best time to shop for new bargains is Wednesday morning, according to Sam.

This is usually when prices usually go down.

“Go bright and early,” she said. “I got a pair of Wave 100 JBL earphones which were £1 down from £10 on a Wednesday morning recently.”

To beat other shoppers, set an alarm early on your phone.

Shop while the kids are in school

Sometimes it’s hard to say no to the kids if they spot toys or sweets in store.

That’s why Sam makes sure to shop in store while her two children, Shanae, 16, and Keighan, 11, are at school.

That way, she can monitor her budget and make sure she’s not overspending on her shopping trips.

“As a single mum, I need to make sure I’m saving where I can,” she said.

Ask staff for help

If you scan an item using your scanner but the price isn’t listed, don’t just put the item back.

Take it to a member of staff and ask them to check the price – you may find it’s a bargain.

“I recently scanned a rug on my app, but it said that the barcode wasn’t found, so I took it to the till.

“They checked and said it was 10p. The rug was originally £40 – I thought it was great, so I’ve put it in my living room.”

It might be an idea making friends with staff at your local branch.

They may be able to share helpful intel on which items have recently dropped in price.

Here’s the best time to shop at B&M.

There’s a B&M garden furniture sale now – here’s the cheapest item selling for £10.

Giant bars of Dairy Milk have also been slashed to just £1 in store.

I’ve made £18k on Vinted – my photos always stand out and it’s all about NOT taking them on a white background

A RESELLER who has made over £18,000 on Vinted has shared the genius tip she swears by to ensure her pictures always stand out.

Maisie regularly shares her tips and tricks with others on her TikTok page, and recently shared a clip explaining why she’s now opting against using a white background for her pictures to list on the selling app.

Reselling whizz Maisie has explained why it’s best to take your pictures for Vinted on a grey background[/caption]

In her TikTok video, she showed how the grey made the colours in this dress really stand out[/caption]

And it gives a much more accurate representation of the item than using white – which just absorbs the colours[/caption]

Instead, she’s chosen to take them on a grey background – and it’s working a treat.

“If you look at this grey background, the colour of this dress just shows up so much nicer,” Maisie said in the video.

“In terms of colour theory and on the colour wheel, grey is actually a neutral background, while white and black absorb all the colours.

“So to get an accurate representation of the colour, a grey background is apparently the best for photography.

“And obviously as resellers we want to make sure that we’re getting the most accurate and the most professional pictures for our listings!”

Maisie showed how she has been hanging her items against a grey wall for the pictures, but said that “lots of people have just a grey sheet of fabric, rug, whatever”.

And in the comments section, lots of viewers said they were keen to test out the hack themselves.

“Guess who is painting their wall grey now,” one said.

“Are you painting right now?” Maisie asked.

To which the person then replied: “Hahaha no! I did however check under my stairs and check what paint I had.

“THEN I texted my fella and woke him up asking if he still had any grey paint. He was not impressed!”

“That makes sense!” another added.

“I’ve got grey walls all around my house, just white doors.

“I need a hook on my wall now lol, thank you.”

“That actually makes so much sense,” a third agreed.

“That’s it I’m going grey lol!”

New Vinted rules to be aware of

IF you fancy clearing out your wardrobe and getting rid of your old stuff on Vinted, you’ll need to consider the new rules that recently came into play.

If people are selling personal items for less than they paid new (which is generally the case for second-hand sales), there is no impact on tax.

However, since January 1, digital platforms, including eBayAirbnbEtsyAmazon and Vinted, must share seller information with HMRC as part of a crackdown.

You’re unlikely to be affected if you only sell a handful of second-hand items online each year – generally, only business sellers trading for profit might need to pay tax.

A tax-free allowance of £1,000 has been in place since 2017 for business sellers trading for profit – the only time that an individual personal item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is a profit from the sale.

However, firms now have to pass on your data to HMRC if you sell 30 or more items a year or earn over £1,700.

It is part of a wider tax crackdown to help ensure that those who boost their income via side hustles pay up what they owe.

While your data won’t be shared with HMRC if you earn between £1,000 and £1,700, you’ll still need to pay tax as normal.

“We’re all going grey!” Maisie laughed in response.

“I’ll have to paint a grey feature wall in my dining room now,” someone else joked.

While Sam, the Unbusy Bee, who was the first one to share the clever trick, added: “Perfectly explained!”

Matthaus, 64, has been spotted at numerous public outings with Instagram model Theresa Sommer, 26.

The 26-year-old accompanied the Bayern Munich icon to a recent celebrity ski race in Ischgl, Austria.

Matthus told A2 Television: “We came for skiing, and the rest is a private matter.”

Sommer has also been snapped watching the Nations League final in Munich with the ex-footballer.

The model studied economics at King’s College in London and then Durham University, according to The Mail.

It is unknown if the pair’s relationship is platonic or romantic.

Matthaus did not return comment when approached by German publication BILD.

The former Ballon d’Or winner has been married five times since tying the knot with first wife Silvia in 1981, before divorcing in 1992.

His next relationship came after Matthaus had hung up his boots and headed into management.
