Due to overwhelming demand, Air France has announced the extension of its popular seasonal route between Cape Town and Paris until 3 May 2026, giving travellers even more time to enjoy direct flights between the two cities.
Originally set to end in March 2026, the route’s extension reflects the high volume of both South African travellers heading to Europe and international visitors arriving in Cape Town.
The Mother City continues to be a top destination during the northern hemisphere’s winter, drawing tourists eager for sunshine, beaches, and Cape Town’s signature cultural vibrancy.
‘Strong demand’
“Cape Town remains one of the most inspiring destinations in our network, and we are thrilled to see such strong demand for our seasonal Paris–Cape Town route,” said Wilson Tauro, Country Manager Southern Africa at Air France-KLM.
“This extension not only reflects the continued appetite for travel between Cape Town and Europe but also reinforces Air France’s commitment to connecting South Africans to the world with style, comfort, and efficiency.”
The daily service will continue with the following schedule:
- Flight AF0871 departs Cape Town daily at 08:50, arriving in Paris at 19:20
- Return flight AF0890 leaves Paris at 18:30, arriving in Cape Town at 06:45 the next morning
Tourism sector
The flights are operated by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350, offering passengers a premium experience that includes French-inspired cuisine, world-class service, and champagne served in every cabin.
Air France said the move aligns with its broader investment in the South African market and its confidence in the ongoing recovery of the country’s tourism sector.
South African travellers also benefit from Air France’s extensive global network, providing seamless connections from Paris to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, and beyond.
