Bafana stumble against Zimbabwe: Who flopped, who fired

Bafana Bafana played their worst match under Hugo Broos following their disastrous 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe.

Coming into the match, Bafana had a simple task: win and have destiny in their hands. Unfortunately, things got difficult and Hugo Broos’ men when the Warriors made life difficult.

Despite creating several chances, South Africa failed to penetrate the stubborn 10-man Zim defence.

How did Bafana players performed on Friday

Sipho Mbule 7/10

The Master Chef had a brilliant game but was unlucky not to score a goal. The Pirates midfielder had several opportunities to score but shot wide every time he had a chance to take a shot. Mbule has a chance to win it but fired wide in the dying minutes.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi 8/10

Mbokazi was made to work in the second half when Zimbabwe had several chances on the counter. TLB stood tall and managed to keep Bafana in the match, especially in the dying minutes when he made a decisive block. A few minutes later, he was sent off but his job was done on the night.

Lyle Foster 2/10

The Burnley superstar was the worst Bafana player on the pitch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The 25-year-old striker missed a number of clear chances, and even during attacks, the former Orlando Pirates forward looked out of sorts.

Teboho Mokoena 5/10

Tebza had a poor game by his standard. With Marshall Munetsi bossing the midfield, the Sundowns midfielder found himself chasing shadows.

Can South Africa still qualify after their disappointing draw?
