Bafana star denied move to north Africa, Chiefs, Pirates and Downs to poune?

Stellenbosch FC and Bafana Bafana star Devin Titus could be on the market at the end of the season, with his current contract expiring in June next year.

The 25-year-old attacker has not had the best of seasons with Stellies, having struggled for form. Big teams such as Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were once interested in the Bafana star, but nothing materialised.

Titus had to watch his ex-teammates join the big three over the last few years; however, his coach, Steve Barker, made it clear that Stellenbosch was not looking to sign the 25-year-old attacker to a local team.

Bafana star not joining any local team

“Devin wants to stay at Stellenbosch, he doesn’t want to play for any other South African team and he’s made that clear,” Barker said on Metro FM’s Sports Night Amplified.

“He does want to play abroad… his ambition is to play in either Europe or North Africa. But for now, he remains our player and we are in negotiations, and I am confident he will remain our player for the next coming years.”

The Stellenbosch star was once regarded as one of the PSL’s best young players and even got a Bafana Bafana call-up.

With his current deal with Stellies expiring end of the season, Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns are likely to pounce and sign him for free. Given how the Cape Winelands side has struggled this season, it is unlikely that Titus will move abroad in the coming months.

According to reports, Egyptian outfit Al Masry were keen to sign the Bafana Bafana star but Stellies turned down the offer.

Which team should sign Titus?
