BANISHING mould from your home can feel like a never-ending chore.
From constant bleaching to pricey products that don’t work, there’s loads of stuff out there, but more often than not the mould returns.
That was cleaning whizz Nicola’s experience until she discovered a product that actually works and stops mould from coming back.
Taking to Instagram, Nicole explained how the Mould Magic gel worked wonders in her new home.
“If you haven’t seen this before you need to get some, it works on so many different surfaces but I used it mainly on grout in the bathroom,” Nicola explained.
In the viral clip she showed what the bathroom looked like when she first moved in, and sure enough the walls were covered in mould.
The formula is especially easy to apply because it comes in a tube with a nozzle designed to get into those hard to reach places.
Not only that, but according to Nicola the formula is also non-drip, so you don’t have to worry about it slipping and sliding away.
After a couple of hours the product can then be wiped away, leaving your bathroom mould free.
“The mould never comes back,” the cleaning whizz added.
Unsurprisingly, fellow cleaning fans were wowed by the before and after snaps of the bathroom.
One commented on the clip: “It’s brilliant for washing machines too.”
“Oo, thanks I’ll be getting this,” another said.
“Omg we recently got mould in out shower and it’s right in the grout so this will be great,” a third chimed in.
Meanwhile, others wanted to know if the product would work on painted walls and Nicola revealed she’d tried Mould Magic there too and was impressed with the results.
The product can be bought online for as little as £9.95 too, so it won’t break the bank.
If it’s too late, and any condensation has had a chance to flourish and turn into mould, you can start removing it for nothing.
Natalie, from Which?, said: “A few drops of washing up liquid mixed with warm water can work on smaller areas of mould on hard surfaces like walls or floors.
“Use a sponge, cloth, or brush to work the soapy solution in small circular motions over the mould.
“If you’re trying to remove particularly stubborn mould, try a 1:1 solution of white vinegar and warm water and pour it into a spray bottle to target the affected area.”
If you’ve got a bit more in your budget, you can try buying mould or mildew remover from your nearest supermarket or retailer.
You can get it as cheap as £1.20 from B&M or £2.50 from Dunelm, at the time of writing.
You can usually treat smaller patches of mould yourself, but if the problem has gotten out of hand, you might need to call someone in.
Natalie said: “If you find new mould growing quickly in other areas of your home, or the affected area becomes too large to handle, it may be time to get professional help.”
Checkatrade says it costs £25-£35 per hour or £200-£400 per room to call someone in for mould removal.
Meanwhile if you want a specialist to come and take a look to inspect for any mould, that will cost you around £50-£300.
Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.
Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.
“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.
“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.
“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.
“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.
“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.
“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.
“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.
“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.
“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.
“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.
“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.
“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!
“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”
PRINCE Harry’s African charity Sentebale has dramatically switched off its Twitter comments amid claims of “online harassment”.
The social media withdrawal comes months after the Harry sensationally quit the organisation and the charity’s boss accused him of “bullying”.
A statement posted online reads: “Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily disable comments on this platform due to the harmful effects of targeted online harassment.”
Dr Sophie Chandauka, the charity’s chief, pulled a similar move herself, shutting down her social media after she was trolled by the “Sussex Squad” in the wake of the spat.
Harry stormed away from the charity at the end of March, siding with the trustees who said Chandauka’s leadership was “untenable”.
In turn, she accused the royal of “harassment and bullying at scale”, and labelled the Sussex brand “toxic” – allegations Harry’s representatives have always denied.
It is understood the trustees strongly disagreed with the decision to appoint Chandauka as chair from the start, and wanted her to step down.
The flash-point appeared to be the move to transfer the charity’s fundraising operation to Africa, which caused several key figures to quit the organisation.
Dr Chandauka then explosively claimed there had been a “cover-up” at the charity.
She alleged there was “weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, and misogynoir”.

SONY has announced that it will be issuing refunds over a gaming blunder.
The gaming giant had to issue an apology after gamers experienced significant problems with one if its new releases.
Players of Mindseye faced glitches galore when they tried to run the game which is available on PS5, PC and Xbox series X/S.
The third-person shooter game was released on June 10, but TheGamer reported that Sony has already started handing out refunds.
In the past, Sony has been reluctant to offer refunds unless a game is almost entirely unplayable.
Gamers have reported recurring crashes and a sub-30 frames-per-second running rate.
Developers of the game Build a Rocket Boy issued an apology after users complained about the issues they were facing.
They also promised a “hotfix” to address the immediate performance problems.
Build a Rocket Boy said in their statement: “A heartfelt thank you to all our day-one players. We know the launch of Mindseye hasn’t been without its challenges for some of you.
“Right now, our top priority is game performance. We understand that the requirements are high and have limited the experience for many of you, and for this, we sincerely apologise.
“Improving performance across all devices is our immediate focus. A patch that begins our commitment to address this is scheduled for the end of this week on PC, which will also roll out to consoles as soon as possible.”
Even before the game’s release it was already the subject of controversy, with Push Square giving it a 3 out of 10 review.
The game is described on Stream as “a narrative driven, single-player action-adventure thriller set in the near-future fictional desert city of Redrock.
“Featuring best-in class cinematics, high octane driving, and explosive combat from game director Leslie Benzies.”
Reviews so far have been mostly negative, with nearly 1500 reviews averaging out at 2.5 stars.
One recent 2/10 review reads: “Mindseye isn’t disappointing – disappointment implies expectations. This is a $60 crash course in how to wrap a hollow experience in cinematic lighting and misleading trailers.”
Another customer who had their purchase refunded wrote: “Absolutely horrible game.”
Even without the technical problems, gamers criticised it as a “boring” cash grab with “stupid” side missions.
They did, however, praise the game for its immersive cutscenes, although for many this wasn’t enough to redeem it.
Others were more positive, with one writing: “I recommend it once all the bugs are fixed.”
Another wrote: “I really believe this game could turn around. The potential is there.”
Promotional Twitch content was postponed after the developer became aware of some of the bugs – with popular streamer CohhCarnage having his stream cancelled just as he was about to begin promoting the game.
Others content creators that had been paid to promote the game clearly showed its many issues – with streamers trying to talk through the game while it crashed.
HUNDREDS of retailers fear they could go out of business over enforcing age bans on smoking and vape sales.
Campaigning shopkeeper Paul Cheema says new laws could be the “final straw” as they deal with aggressive customers when asked for identification.
The move comes after the hard-pressed firms are already dealing with a hike in rising business rates and feel shoplifting in their stores is going unpunished.
He has joined forces with 700 fellow shopkeepers amid fears asking for ID could lead to more violence in the shops.
On-the-spot fines of £200 will be handed out by trading standards inspectors for selling tobacco, vape and nicotine products to underage customers.
Anyone born after January 1, 2009 will not be able to buy tobacco as Ministers aim for the first smoke-free generation.
The retailers have written to Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds demanding more support for independent stores.
Mr Cheema said: “The proposed laws will do nothing to stop the illicit trade, but will put us in the firing line when enforcement falls on shop staff. It’ll be the final straw.
“We all want to protect young people from smoking.
“But badly thought-through laws won’t do that – they’ll just drive more sales underground, where nobody checks ID.
“We’re not asking for handouts. We’re asking to be heard. The government is piling pressure on our sector from every direction:”
“I’ve seen the government move mountains to protect 2,700 jobs in the steel industry – and rightly so.
“But there are 445,000 jobs in UK convenience stores, and we’re being ignored.”
“Local shops like mine are part of the fabric of British life. We’re open early, open late, and we’re there for people when no one else is.
“But there comes a point where enough is enough.”
There are also fears that adults will go to illicit stores to buy tobacco which will reduce the income for smaller stores.
Tobacco sales account for 15 per cent of the sales with six million people who see smoking as a way of life.
A government spokesperson said: “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our high streets, and our Plan for Change will help ensure they thrive.
“We’re taking tough action on shoplifters, and worked with retailers to help them get ready for the ban on single use vapes.”
A DAMNING review into rape gangs will directly link illegal migration with the exploitation of British girls, The Sun can reveal.
The Home Office is expected to publish the long-awaited National Audit on Group-Based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse next week.
A source familiar with the report said its author, Baroness Louise Casey, specifically links illegal migration with the violence perpetrated against vulnerable girls.
The Sun understands there are fears in the Home Office that knowledge of the link between undocumented arrivals and grooming gangs could trigger more civil unrest.
The Home Office today refused to deny the involvement of illegal migration in the Casey report.
A government spokesperson said: “Nothing is more important than protecting vulnerable children, and we are determined to crack down on vile grooming gangs once and for all.
“That’s why we ordered a rapid national audit to uncover the true scale of this horrific abuse.
“This report – alongside our response – will be published shortly.”
The Casey review was tasked with building a “national picture of what is known about current group-based child sexual exploitation” and to “identify local and national trends”.
It will also “provide an assessment of what is known about the demographics of grooming gangs and their victims, including ethnicity”.
It comes as a grooming gang have been found guilty of raping and abusing two teen girls in Rochdale in a five-year reign of terror.
The seven men “passed” the victims around for sex and preyed on them in squalid flats and car parks in the town.
They groomed the girls from the age of 13 and made them their “sex slaves” by plying them with gifts, including alcohol and drugs.
The victims both had “deeply troubled home lives”, which meant they were easy prey for the fiends.
During a five-year horror ordeal, the girls were expected to have sex “whenever and wherever” the defendants and other men wanted.
As well as flats and car parks, the predators abused the teens on rancid mattresses, in cars, alleyways and disused warehouses.
Mohammed Zahid, 64, Kasir Bashir, 50, Mushtaq Ahmed, 66, Roheez Khan, 39, Mohammed Shahzad, 43, Nisar Hussain, 43, and Naheem Akram, 48, were today convicted.
Three of the abusers, Zahid, Ahmed and Bashir were born in Pakistan and worked as stallholders on Rochdale’s indoor market.
Father-of-three Zahid – known as Boss Man – gave free underwear from his lingerie stall to both victims.
He was previously jailed for five years after he engaged in sexual activity in 2006 with a 15-year-old girl who he met when she visited his stall to buy tights for school.
THE death-cheating Brit sole survivor of the Air India disaster has revealed a clue that something was wrong just moments before the crash.
Vishwash Ramesh, 40, said the cabin lights began flickering before the jet sank through the air – a detail which could help solve the mystery of the catastrophe.
Recalling the moments before tragedy, Vishwash, from Leicester, said: “When the flight took off, within five to 10 seconds it felt like it was stuck in the air.
“Suddenly, the lights started flickering – green and white.
“The aircraft wasn’t gaining altitude and was just gliding before it suddenly slammed into a building and exploded.”
Vishwash’s flickering lights revelation comes after a passenger, who took the plane the day before the crash, claimed electrical parts such as the back-of-seat screens weren’t working.
Aviation experts have speculated that the reports of dodgy electrics could be a sign of a power failure, possibly explaining the crash.
Air India is keeping an open mind as to what went wrong and caused the deaths of 52 Brits.
Theories being considered include issues with the engine thrust, flaps and landing gear – as well as a bird strike and a pilot error.
And the Indian government’s investigation is also considering whether Air India was at fault in any way.
India’s aviation regulator had recently ordered the airline to safety check its entire Boeing 787 fleet.
Vishwash is the only person who can provide an insider’s witness account of the moment – and previously said he has “no idea” how he survived.
He said: “I saw people dying in front of my eyes – the air hostesses, and two people I saw near me […] I walked out of the rubble.”
The lucky escapee speculated: “I think the side I was on was not facing the hostel. I don’t know about others.”
Other analysts have suggested he managed to escape thanks to a flying piece of fuselage – which was caught soaring through the air on video.
Vishwash’s seat was 11A, right next to the emergency door, which is understood to have blown off when the plane struck the building and then exploded.
In the unbelievable footage, a tiny object is seen flying away for a split second – right before the jet is engulfed in flames.
Investigators continue to analyse the footage and search for the mystery piece of debris as they try to find out what caused the horror crash.
Recalling the moment of disbelief when he found himself alive, Vishwash said: “At first, I thought I was dead. Later, I realised I was still alive and saw an opening in the fuselage.
“I managed to unbuckle myself, used my leg to push through that opening and crawled out.”
“When I got up, there were bodies all around me. I was scared. I stood up and ran. There were pieces of the plane all around me.
“Someone grabbed hold of me and put me in an ambulance and brought me to the hospital.”
Vishwash that the plane caught fire before he fought through the rubble – and then exploded when he was just out of harm’s way.
Footage shows Vishwash, staggering and caked in blood with locals helping him an ambulance.
Speaking in Hindi, he says: “I just got out of the plane, it exploded.”
From there he was rushed to hospital, and has since heaped praise on the medical staff treating him.
He said: “My treatment is going well, and the people are very supportive.”
Vishwash’s brother Ajay was onboard the plane and died.
