What happens next?

Mikel Arteta‘s men were 22 goals shy of their tally for the 2023/24 campaign.

And Arsenal are ready to spend big to bring proven goal threats to the club.

Rogers made 19 goal contributions across 37 Prem games for Villa last season.

The 22-year-old proved to be hugely impressive in his full top-flight season.

According to The Times, Arsenal would have to offer a “significant fee” to prize Rogers away from Villa Park.

He only joined the club in 2023 for £15million from Middlesbrough.

Rogers extended his contract at Villa until 2030 last November.

But missing out on the Champions League could see players moved away from Villa Park this summer.

Villa are at serious risk from PSR rules, according to research undertaken by The Athletic.

The club have lost £206.2m in the past two seasons, the highest deficit in the Premier League in that time.

Research from the outlet suggests project Villa can only lose £15m in 2024-25 and remain in line with Prem rules.

Igor Paixao is being eyed as a potential bargain buy[/caption]

Sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly lining up cheaper alternatives if a move for Williams proves too costly.

The club are reportedly keeping tabs on Feyenoord’s Igor Paixao.

The Brazilian, 24, is under contract with the Dutch club until the summer of 2029.

He scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists last year.

Marseille are rumoured to be interested in Paixao, with Leeds and clubs in Serie A also said to be eyeing a summer swoop.
