ARSENAL are on the verge signing Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, reports claim.
And the Gunners will pay just a £5m release clause to their London rivals who once made Kepa the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.
GettyGunners are on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga[/caption]
Arsenal had made Kepa their top target as they look to recruit a deputy to first-choice goalkeeper David Raya.
But the 30-year-old Spanish stopper, who just enjoyed a solid season at Bournemouth, won’t settle for a No 2 spot.
According to the Athletic, Kepa is on the cusp of moving to the Emirates.
Kepa has a £5m release clause in his Chelsea contract, which he signed before joining the Cherries on a season-long loan.
That extension added a year onto his terms, which now run until June 2026, but also significantly reduced his salary.
The Spaniard joined Chelsea for a £71.6m fee from Athletic Club in 2018 and has featured 163 times for the West London side, winning four major honours.

PADDY McGuinness admitted he’s got a secret telly crush during an appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.
The former Take Me Out star paired up with Vernon Kay for the popular TV series, which kicked off with them watching Ross Kemp game show, Bridge of Lies.

The star admitted he had a crush on Rachel RileyPaddy changed his mind when he realised Rachel was a Man U fan
Tackling the celebrity version of the quick-thinking game was Countdown star Rachel Riley, which Paddy admitted was a favourite of his.
“There’s something about Rachel Riley,” he told Vernon. “I don’t know what it is.
“You know when you have, like, a celebrity crush that you’re not supposed to have?”
However, Vernon was on hand to bring him back down to Earth, telling Paddy that Rachel was a “United fan”.
A horrified Paddy then changed his mind and declared: “Oh I’ve gone right off her!”
Unfortunately for Paddy, who is currently single after splitting from wife Christine McGuinness in 2022, Rachel is a taken woman, marrying Strictly Come Dancing pro Pasha Kovalev in 2019.
The pair have been together since 2014, shortly after meeting on the BBC dancing show and Rachel split from her husband.
A pal told The Sun: “Dan and Christine have known each other for years.
“Their friendship goes as far back as 2019, when Jac was heading Down Under to the I’m A Celeb jungle, when they had a brilliant night out at a fund-raising gala in London.
“They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty.
“Some were seen by mutual friends.
“She would call him ‘D’ in texts and it became an open secret among their circles.
“There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it’s fair to say there was a spark between them.”
Former Towie star Da is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were “deep fakes or AI” when asked
A pal said: “Dan is devoted to Jacqueline and would hate for any suggestion of impropriety.
“Of course, it’s possible for a man and woman to be mates.”Despite this, Dan has reportedly sent grovelling messages to Jacqueline – with whom he’s trying to repair his marriage to – after the news broke.

AIDAN O’BRIEN’S No2 Lambourn stunned his big hope Delacroix to land the Derby – as a load of the big guns flopped in the £1.5million Epsom blockbuster.
Lambourn, who was sent off 13-2, hit the front early and was never for catching under loyal jockey Wayne Lordan.
PALambourn surges past the post under Wayne Lordan to land a third straight Derby for Aidan O’Brien[/caption]

Ryan Moore never really got into it on red-hot favourite Delacroix and finished ninth, beaten 16 lengths.
And, for once, the world’s best jockey had to play second best to Lordan – who he beat into second in the Oaks on Friday.
There was a huge result for syndicate Middleham Park as their 50-1 Lazy Griff, trained by Charlie Johnston, came second.
While Aidan’s son Joseph was third with 28-1 Tennessee Stud.
Juddmonte had the fourth home with 50-1 New Ground.
O’Brien said: “Wayne gave him an incredible ride – he is a great fella and has done so much hard work throughout the years.
“The horse is very straightforward and Wayne knew he would stay.
“I’m delighted for Wayne and couldn’t be happier.
“The lads put in everything and I am just delighted to be on their coat tails!”
The race was a big result for the bookies, even though Lambourn was well backed before the off as rain got into the Surrey turf.
Although ITV Racing presenter Kevin Blake somehow did manage to pick the first three home in a truly unbelievable tricast.
There were no shows from big hopes including Dante winner Pride Of Arras and Damysus – while 2,000 Guineas winner Ruling Court was withdrawn just hours before the race on account of the ground.
Lordan said on ITV: “I felt I was going a good gallop, past the six furlong pole with two ears pricked and knew I was in a good spot.
“I just had to keep the momentum going. He’s not a flashy horse, they show pace and quicken.
“This fella rolls his sleeves up and just rolls along – but he is always there at the end.”

“It needs revamping, that’s what I think. A lot of the players are not enjoying it and you can tell.”
1 week agoLatest NewsComments Off on Shoppers race to buy garden must-have from Amazon that adds instant privacy & perfect for unpredictable British summers
AMAZON is selling a stylish pop up gazebo for less than £60 that is perfect for family gatherings.
The Outsunny Pop Up gazebo not only offers instant privacy – it is also popular with online customers.
The pop-up gazebo is perfect for family gatherings or for a Father’s Day bash
And in another plus for the pop up, it is also a smash hit with consumer organisation Which?, scoring high marks in recent tests.
With forecasters predicting a sun-packed summer it couldn’t have arrived at a better time, making it a must-have item for BBQs, parties and festivals.
It is also the perfect addition for anyone planning an outdoor Father’s Day event on June 15.
The Outsunny 3x3m Pop Up Gazebo is currently on offer for just £55.99 on Amazon.
That takes 29% off the original price.
It’s also been awarded a brilliant 82% score by Which?, with particular praise for how easy it is to assemble.
This means there are no tools – or temper tantrums – required.
There is also a grey version of the Outsunny Pop Up Gazebo for sale on Amazon, which retails at £79.99.
This will provide shade on scorching days and protection when the heavens open.
It comes with four zippered side panels – so you can go fully enclosed or keep it open for breeze and mingling.
There are other reasons to purchase this gazebo too.
This includes its steel frame, which has been powder-coated for durability.
The Outsunny 3x3m Pop Up Gazebo even includes eight drainage holes to stop water collecting on top.
Its exact dimensions are 2.95m x 2.95 m x 2.58m, with the door at a height of 1.96m.
The gazebo comes in multiple colour options – but prices vary
The manufacturer recommends two to three people are on hand to assemble.
In addition to this, when you’re party’s over, it packs neatly into the included carry bag for easy storage and transport.
How to have a great – and safe - barbecue
If you are planning a barbecue in your garden it is advised you consider how you will get rid of disposable barbecues once you’ve finished with them.
Some areas have dedicated barbecue bins, but you should always ensure your barbecue is fully cooled before disposal by pouring cold water on it, says East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.
Other advice includes choosing a location away from buildings, fences, trees, and anything that could catch fire.
Ensure the ground is flat and stable, and that the barbecue is placed firmly to prevent tipping.
Never leave a barbecue unattended when in use.
Keep children, pets, and garden games away from the cooking area.
With multiple colour options, it’s also easy to coordinate.
But be quick, because the most popular shades and sizes tend to sell out fast when the weather forecast starts to change.
At such a low price, a proper gazebo like this one is a small investment that could save your whole day – whatever the weather.
Some listings spotted by the expert on eBay had price tags of up to £100,000, a massive markup.
One particular coin that is often seen listed with an eye watering price tag is the “Brexit 50p” which is not rare at all.
Despite numerous listings on eBay pricing the 50p piece at upwards of £10,000 the coin is only worth its face value.
Brits who are looking to get into coin collecting were warned to avoid the dodgy listings.
Matthew Horwood/Getty ImagesThe Brexit 50p has been listed for more than £10,000[/caption]
The Brexit 50p features writing on the “tails” side reading: “Peace Prosperity And Friendship With All Nations.”
It had a 10 million odd mintage meaning it is not rare in the slightest and only holds its face value of 50p.
Another common discovery on eBay is the Mrs Tittlemouse 50p, which has been listed for £10,000 plus.
The coin expert again debunked the eye watering price tag explaining that the piece was only worth around £3.
While rarer than the Brexit 50p the Mrs Tittlemouse 50p still isn’t worth anywhere near what some sellers are asking for it.
Even the rarest coins often sell for less than £1,000 with one of the rarest coins in UK circulation, the Kew Gardens 50p, selling for £800.
Some collectors will pay extortionate amounts for rare pieces but coins rarely sell on eBay for the prices sellers sometimes ask for.
Coins are made rare by having a low mintage, meaning only a few were printed, or by having mistakes.
Currency minted with mistakes is very valuable to collectors since an exceedingly small number of coins are printed and put into circulation with errors on them.
Commemorative pieces like the London Olympics coins are rare too with only a few put into circulation for a limited time.
But even the Olympic coins aren’t worth much more than their face value unless they have an error.
To spot a rare coin Brits have been urged to check their mintage numbers before buying or selling them.
Rare metal coins, such as gold bullion, have an inherently high price due to the cost of the metals they are made of.
Most rare and valuable 50p coins
WE reveal the Royal Mint’s most rare and valuable 50p coins in circulation.
Triathlon
Minted in 2011, the Triathlon 50p depicts the same sport which featured in the 2012 Olympics.
There are more than 1,160,000 of the coins in circulation.
With over 200million 50ps circulating in the UK, that makes this coin quite a rare find.
The highest recent sale we’ve found on eBay recently was £30 on June 21.
Judo
Judo is a popular sport that involves grappling with your opponent.
But despite the design, it’s not so easy to get a hold of this coin, of which there are just 1,161,500 in circulation.
The piece was designed by David Cornell after he won a national competition.
It was minted in 2011 and the highest bid we’ve seen on eBay was for £17.95 on June 21.
Wrestling
Wrestling was one of the first Olympic sports so it’s not surprising that it features on one of the 50p pieces.
The 2011 coin was designed by Roderick Enriquez, a graphic designer from Hammersmith, London.
We’ve seen it sell for as much as £15 online so is worth digging around for.
In recent months, one was sold on eBay for £11.95 on June 18.
Football
Of all the coins created to commemorate the 2012 Olympic Games, the 50p Football is among the rarest.
It features an explanation of the controversial offside rule on it, with 1,125,000 produced.
One sold for £20 on eBay on June 11, although it has been known to go for as much as £75 in the past.
Kew Gardens
The Kew Gardens 50p is the rarest of all the 50p pieces, with only 210,000 in circulation.
They have been known to sell for as much as £895 on eBay before.
The design was created by Christopher Le Brun RA and features the famous Chinese Pagoda with a leafy chamber that twists around the tower.
The coin often sparks the interest of new coin collectors due to its rarity.
The highest sale we found in recent weeks was £142 on June 22 with 23 bids.

AN abandoned fairytale theme park that cost just under £118million was forced to close after just four years.
Mirapolis opened in 1987 in Courdimanche, France – less than an hour via train from Paris – featuring French legends and stories throughout the attraction.
Mirapolis originally opened in 1987The theme park was based on French legendsGettyOne ride was inside a statue of Gargantua[/caption]
Architect Anne Fourcade was inspired to create the park after visiting the Disneyland theme park in California in 1980.
Rides included ‘The Dark Ride’, which was inspired by ‘City of Ys’ legend.
The ride was modern for the time, with a terrifying sea monster, sunken head and an underwater scene that even had animatronics.
It was thought it could have been a rival to Disneyland Paris, which opened in 1992 and was around an hour away, with both based on fairytales and childhood stories.
Not only that, but it hoped to welcome as many as 600,000 tourists a year, according to AD magazine.
Yet according to the LA Times, the “French theme park experience began only in 1987,” which meant a boom in new attractions that weren’t being run correctly.
After just four years the park was closed, waiting to be rebuilt.
It was reportedly one of the biggest financial fails of the history of France.
The expectations for the park were said to have been too optimistic and were based off of incorrect market research.
This included looking at American tourists compared to French tourists, when it came to elements like eating habits and ticket prices.
Not only that, but the stories and characters the park was based on were mainly only known to French locals, unlike the international fame of Disney‘s characters.
After the closure of the amusement park back in 1991, it sat abandoned for a year waiting for a buyer.
When a buyer didn’t emerge, a crew of journalists and operators created a film on the closed-down park with the attractions being opened for one last time.
From 1993 onwards, the buildings were gradually demolished, with some of the rides sent to other amusement parks.
For example, the ride ‘Dragon des Sortilèges’ went to Spreepark and Les pirates went to Meli Park.
In 1995, arguably the most iconic part of the park – the Gargantua statue – finally lost it’s head.
The statue was the second tallest hollow state in the world behind the Stature of Liberty, and was of the giant from the story ‘The Life of Gargantua’ and of ‘Pantagruel’ from the 16th century.
The Dark Ride was located inside the statue and took guests on a journey through the giant’s body with 120 animatronics.
In 2017, the park would have celebrated its 30th anniversary and to mark the occasion, an exhibition was set up showcasing the history of the park.
And in 2018, plans were revealed to built an “eco-friendly tourist resort” on the same site although this was also abandoned in 2019.

THE 1% Club’s questions once again proved to be too much for most after one query wiped out almost a fifth of the studio.
During one particularly savage round, 18 hopefuls were sent home when they failed to spot the correct sequences of letters. Did you manage to get it right?
ITVLee Mack was stunned by how many people got knocked out[/caption]

ITVThe question knocked out 18 people[/caption]
ITVThe tricky question was a brainteaser[/caption]
The jaw-dropping moment unfolded in series two, episode five of the hit ITV quiz show, where host Lee Mack watched in disbelief as a simple-sounding question exposed just how tricky the game can be.
Players were shown four words and asked to spot the one that does not contain three consecutive letters from the alphabet.
The options were, Unopenable, Understandable, Unquestionable, and Undefineable.
It might look easy on the surface, but spotting sequences like ‘DEF’ or ‘RST’ hidden in the words proved harder than expected.
Players had just 30 seconds to examine the words and pick out the correct answer.
The answer turned out to be C, ‘Unquestionable’. ‘ Unopenable’ contains ‘NOP’, ‘Undefineable’ includes ‘DEF’, and ‘Understandable’ also hides ‘RST’. That left as the only one without a consecutive alphabetical trio, making it the right answer.
Eighteen contestants failed to spot it, knocking them out of the game in one fell swoop. The shock exit had jaws dropping in the studio.
Host Lee Mack kept his cool, but couldn’t hide his surprise as players who had breezed through earlier rounds were taken out by the sneaky wording.
The question came late in the game, reserved for the sharpest minds — but it still managed to trip up even the most confident contestants.
Previously, a whopping 20 playerswere wiped outin a brutally challenging picture question.
The result of the 30% question changed the face of the game, shedding half of the remaining current players.
Lee read aloud to the group: “How many RIGHT FOOTPRINTS can you see in the sand.”
An image was then displayed showcasing an assortment of footprints in the sand.
Players were then given 30 seconds to differentiate between the right and left feet.
The image then turned the eight right feet green in order to correctly display which of the options the players should have been looking at.
