I’ve lost 3.8 stone on Mounjaro – I’ve had bad hair loss & another VERY unexpected side effect I’m not coping well with

A MOTHER has revealed that despite losing over three stone thanks to Mounjaro, she has been hit with some unfortunate side effects.

Chloe Mckernan, 32, a mum-of-two from Glasgow who is currently on her “glow up journey”, got candid on the side effects, which are not limited to hair loss

The brunette, who recently opened up on dealing with a sore scalp and a strange “burning sensation”, has now got candid on the unexpected implication that she is “not coping” well with.

Posting on social media, Chloe, who has the “confidence to wear shorts again”, revealed that she has lost 3 stone 8 lbs since using Mounjaro

The young woman confirmed that as a result of taking Mounjaro, which is regarded by some as the King Kong of weight loss jabs, she has been accused of “cheating” her weight loss.

Sun GP Dr Zoe Williams claimed that Mounjaro, which could soon be rolled out on the NHS, can save the lives of people with “life-threatening levels of obesity”.

But despite this, the NHS warned: “Never take an anti-obesity medicine if it has not been prescribed to you.

“These types of medicines may not be safe for you and can cause serious side effects.”

In recent clips shared online, Chloe discussed the side effects she has experienced since taking Mounjaro

As she held a huge pile of hair extensions, which she claimed have fallen out of her head since using the jabs, she said: “These [extensions] have all come out my head.

“I’m actually really scared to get my hair done on Thursday because I don’t know how much of my actual hair I’ve got left. I’m actually so scared.”

As she showed off her natural hair underneath her extensions, she added: “My hair has been really bad. I don’t have much hair underneath, my hair is getting really thin.”

While hair loss isn’t a direct side effect listed in Mounjaro’s package insert, a 2022 clinical trial showed that 4.9% to 5.7% of participants taking Mounjaro reported hair loss, compared to 0.9% in the placebo group, Drugs reported.

This is usually a result of a rapid weight loss.

Not only this, but in another clip which was uploaded with the caption “Mounjaro girls…anyone else’s hair growing back in grey after hair loss?”, Chloe claimed that since using the fat jabs, any new hairs that have grown have been grey – yes, you heard that correctly.

All the new hairs are growing in white, I can’t be dealing with that

Chloe Mckernan

The mother said: “So obviously I’ve had hair loss on Monjaro, but I’m not coping with the grey hairs that are poking through my head.

“I’m 32 not 62, why have I get grey hairs? All the new hairs are growing in white, I can’t be dealing with that.”

Everything you need to know about fat jabs

Weight loss jabs are all the rage as studies and patient stories reveal they help people shed flab at almost unbelievable rates, as well as appearing to reduce the risk of serious diseases.

Wegovy – a modified version of type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic – and Mounjaro are the leading weight loss injections used in the UK.

Wegovy, real name semaglutide, has been used on the NHS for years while Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a newer and more powerful addition to the market.

Mounjaro accounts for most private prescriptions for weight loss and is set to join Wegovy as an NHS staple this year.

How do they work?

The jabs work by suppressing your appetite, making you eat less so your body burns fat for energy instead and you lose weight.

They do this my mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which signals to the brain when the stomach is full, so the drugs are officially called GLP-1 receptor agonists.

They slow down digestion and increase insulin production, lowering blood sugar, which is why they were first developed to treat type 2 diabetes in which patients’ sugar levels are too high.

Can I get them?

NHS prescriptions of weight loss drugs, mainly Wegovy and an older version called Saxenda (chemical name liraglutide), are controlled through specialist weight loss clinics.

Typically a patient will have to have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, classifying them as medically obese, and also have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure.

GPs generally do not prescribe the drugs for weight loss.

Private prescribers offer the jabs, most commonly Mounjaro, to anyone who is obese (BMI of 30+) or overweight (BMI 25-30) with a weight-related health risk.

Private pharmacies have been rapped for handing them out too easily and video calls or face-to-face appointments are now mandatory to check a patient is being truthful about their size and health.

Are there any risks?

Yes – side effects are common but most are relatively mild.

Around half of people taking the drug experience gut issues, including sickness, bloating, acid reflux, constipation and diarrhoea.

Dr Sarah Jarvis, GP and clinical consultant at patient.info, said: “One of the more uncommon side effects is severe acute pancreatitis, which is extremely painful and happens to one in 500 people.”

Other uncommon side effects include altered taste, kidney problems, allergic reactions, gallbladder problems and hypoglycemia.

Evidence has so far been inconclusive about whether the injections are damaging to patients’ mental health.

Figures obtained by The Sun show that, up to January 2025, 85 patient deaths in the UK were suspected to be linked to the medicines.

Despite Chloe’s concerns, there is currently no scientific evidence directly linking Mounjaro to an increase in grey hair.

However, some individuals, including Chloe, have reported changes in their hair colour or texture whilst taking fat jabs.

It appears that these observations may be influenced by factors such as diet, nutritional intake, and overall health.

Social media users react

Chloe’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @chlo_mckernan, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 165,200 views, 636 likes and 115 comments.

Numerous other Mounjaro users eagerly flocked to the comments, keen to express that they too have experienced hair loss whilst using fat jabs

It’s not Mounjaro!! It’s the weight loss, it will grow back

TikTok user

One person said: “My hair has fallen out so much since being on Mounjaro.”

Another added: “My hair was falling out in CHUNKS, it’s so scary.”

A third commented: “I’ve had the longest and thickest hair for years and I’ve lost so much hair.”

Hair Loss 101

HAIR pro Samantha Cusick has revealed everything you need to know about hair loss.

Why Does Hair Loss Happen?

Hair loss can be influenced by so many factors, from genetics and hormone changes to lifestyle choices.

Stress, diet, and even hair care habits can all impact hair strength.

It’s perfectly normal to lose some hair each day, but sometimes the body can shed more than usual, responding to things like hormonal shifts or even life stressors.

Why It Happens More This Time of Year

Have you ever noticed your hair seems to shed more in autumn? That’s seasonal shedding!

During summer, we hold onto extra hair to protect our scalp from the sun.

As the weather cools, it’s like our body recalibrates and lets go of those extra strands.

Dry, cooler air can also make hair more brittle, making it easier to lose a little extra volume during these months.

Hacks and Affordable Buys to Treat Hair loss

The great news? You don’t need to spend a fortune on pricey treatments to support your hair.

Try daily scalp massages—they’re so simple but really help boost blood flow to the follicles.

Castor oil is another fantastic, budget-friendly option that’s rich in nutrients to strengthen your strands.

Adding a bit more protein to your diet and a biotin supplement can also work wonders for overall hair health.

Products to Avoid

Steer clear of products with high levels of alcohol, sulphates, and parabens – they can be drying and damage hair over time.

Heat styling and chemical treatments can also cause breakage, so try to use them sparingly.

Instead, look for gentle, hydrating formulas to support your scalp and keep hair healthier through the seasons.

But at the same time, one user clarified: “It’s not Mounjaro!! It’s the weight loss, it will grow back.”

Meanwhile, another agreed: “Hair loss means you aren’t eating enough.

“It’s important to get enough calories in, otherwise you’re doing as much damage as good.”

Fatal consequences

In addition to hair loss, those debating whether to begin using Mounjaro should know that the jabs can have fatal consequences.

The injections are licensed for patients with type 2 diabetes and are administered every seven days.

Illustration of weight-loss drug death statistics.

They are also available to assist those who are clinically obese (with a Body Mass Index of 30 or over).

The drugs can be prescribed by a practitioner – such as a doctor, nurse or a pharmacist-independent prescriber.

But increasingly, we are seeing more and more people buying them through online pharmacies, without sufficient checks.

Not only this, but figures from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency revealed that fat jabs had been linked to 82 deaths across the UK.

Following the death of a man from Burton upon Trent, Staffs, who died after taking Mounjaro, his family are now calling for a probe into the jab’s “potential to kill.”

Incredible new footage of Ukraine’s Op Spiderweb shows smuggled drone taking off & swooping on Putin’s burning bombers

THIS is the moment a smuggled Ukrainian drone launched from the roof of a lorry — and blitzed a Russian Tu-22M3 bomber in a direct hit.

The incredible footage, part of Ukraine’s covert “Operation Spiderweb,” tracks the FPV drone from launch to impact in stunning detail.

The FPV then flies lower, ready to strike one of Vladimir Putin’s military aircraft

It shows the drone lifting off from the top of what appears to be a transport vehicle — camouflaged as part of everyday infrastructure.

The FPV is then seen skimming across enemy territory and diving into a high-value target at Russia’s Belaya airfield.

As the drone closes in, smoke is already seen rising from previous strikes – the aftermath of a calculated blitz that’s left Russia’s long-range air force in shambles.

The strike is part of a larger, high-stakes campaign that’s left a trail of wreckage across four of Russia’s strategic air bases, including Olenya, Ivanovo, Dyagilevo, and Belaya.

“This operation was directly led by the Head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk on the instructions of the President of Ukraine, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelensky,” the SBU confirmed.

The operation delivered a staggering $7 billion blow to Vladimir Putin’s long-range bomber fleet – responsible for relentless missile assaults on Ukrainian cities.

METICULOUS PLANNING

Operation Spiderweb wasn’t just a lucky hit – it was a meticulously planned sting, 18 months in the making.

Ukrainian intelligence forces smuggled kamikaze drones into Russian territory using everyday lorries and nondescript shipping containers.

These mobile launch units — disguised as ordinary freight — were quietly parked in rest areas and verges near key military airfields.

Clueless Russian lorry drivers unwittingly delivered the deadly cargo, pulling up next to bases like Belaya without attracting attention.

The containers sat silently until the moment came — then their lids blew open and a swarm of FPV drones rocketed into the sky.

The attack was timed with precision.

Dozens of drones launched in coordinated waves, overwhelming Russian air defences.

Some were able to fly so close to the bombers they landed directly on the fuselage before detonating.

The mission was personally overseen by SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk under direct orders from President Zelensky — a top-level hit with maximum impact.

PUTIN’S FURY

But Mad Vlad didn’t take the humiliation lying down.

Just days after Operation Spiderweb torched a third of Russia’s strategic bomber fleet, Putin hit back — and hard.

In the dead of the night on Saturday, Kharkiv was pounded by Russia’s biggest drone and missile assault yet.

At least three people were killed and 21 injured, including a baby just six weeks old and a 14-year-old girl.

Across Ukraine, air raid sirens wailed as Russia launched 206 drones and nine missiles, targeting multiple regions including Donetsk, Dnipro, Ternopil, and Odesa.

Ukrainian air defences managed to shoot down 174 drones, but the damage was done.

In just 48 hours, Russia fired more than 400 drones and 45 missiles, killing at least six and wounding over 80 across the country.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said the blitz “rained down” destruction, calling for more pressure on Moscow to end the bloodshed.

Who is The Spider?

By James Halpin, Foreign News Reporter

It remains unclear who quarterbacked Ukraine’s incredible drone strike operation for their spy agency – the SBU.

But Vladimir Putin’s goons have accused a Ukrainian ex-DJ of being the spy behind Operation Spiderweb.

Desperate to save face, Russian war bloggers have named the man they think ran Ukraine’s operation inside the the country as Artem Timofeev.

Artem, 37, is a former Ukrainian DJ and is believed by the sleuths to have owned the lorries used to carry the containers to the strikes.

One pro-Russian blogger said: “Artem is now wanted in connection with a terrorist attack in Irkutsk region.

“Four lorries were registered in his name, and one of them was the source of the drones that launched [in an attack on a Putin airbase].”

Artem’s wife Ekaterina Timofeeva, 34, is also suspected to have aided him.

According to pro-Kremlin Russian media, Ekaterina describes herself as a “witch” and is the author of B-list erotic novels.

BBC star shares shock theory as to why Tottenham waited exactly 16 days after Europa League win to sack Ange Postecoglou

ANGE Postecoglou was sacked 16 days after winning the Europa League – and now a theory has emerged as to why Spurs waited til then.

Spurs chief Daniel Levy axed the boss last night – just over two weeks after that glorious night in Bilbao.

Victory over Manchester United in Spain ended the club’s 17-year wait for a trophy.

But after leaving Postecoglou in the dark over his future, Spurs finally announced he was relieved of his duties on Friday afternoon.

It marked exactly two years to the day from when the Australian landed the job in North London.

BBC senior football reporters Ian Dennis and Sami Mokbel discussed the sacking on the Football Daily Podcast.

Both were adamant that the move to get rid of Postecoglou was made before the final.

They said league form was seen as the “true barometer” and Europa League success was just a “bump in the road” to their ultimate decision.

Dennis shared a theory that explained the over two-week wait for the confirmation.

He tweeted: “Interesting his departure was timed after he had completed two years and on the first day of his third year. Significant in any settlement?”

Postecoglou has reportedly pocketed £4m after being shown the exit door by Levy.

He already collected a £2m bonus for getting the club into the Champions League.

Brentford’s Thomas Frank is the leading candidate to take over and he has a £10m release clause in his contract.

Fulham’s Marco Silva and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola remains in contention.

Ange Breaks Silence On Tottenham Sacking

ANGE Postecoglou issued a statement just moments after being axed.

It read: “When I reflect on my time as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, my overriding emotion is one of pride.

“The opportunity to lead one of England’s historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me for a lifetime.

“Sharing that experience with all those who truly love this club and seeing the impact it had on them is something I will never forget.

“That night in Bilbao was the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication and unwavering belief in a dream.

“There were many challenges to overcome and plenty of noise that comes with trying to accomplish what many said was not possible.

“We have also laid the foundations that means this club should not have to wait 17 more years for their next success.

“I have enormous faith in this group of players and know there is much more potential and growth in them. I sincerely want to thank those who are the lifeblood of the club, the supporters.

“I know there were some difficult times, but I always felt that they wanted me to succeed and that gave me all the motivation I needed to push on.

“It’s important to acknowledge the hard working people at Spurs who gave me encouragement on a daily basis.

“And finally, I want to thank those who were with me every day for the last two years.

“A fantastic group of young men who are now legends of this football club and the brilliant coaches who never once doubted we could do something special.

“We are forever connected. Audere est Facere.”

Nationwide customers could make up to £759 by making simple switch

English cash notes in wallet

NATIONWIDE customers can get a huge boost to their savings of up to £759 thanks to a new offer.

The building society is Nationwide members exclusive access to a new Member Exclusive Bond account.

Nationwide is offering its customers a new savings account with a 5% fixed interest rate[/caption]

The 18-month fixed term account comes with a very attractive 5% interest rate – and it means you can get a great return on your savings.

You can put anything between £1 to £10,000 into the account.

If you save away the maximum £10,000, you’ll get a huge return of £759 at the end of the 18 months.

According to Moneyfactscompare.co.uk, the best fixed-rate bond savings accounts up to one year offer rates of 4.45%.

That makes the Member Exclusive Bond account one of the best options if you want to lock your money away in a fixed-rate account.

However there are some terms and conditions you’ll need to meet to be eligible to open the account.

Firstly you’ll need to be an existing Nationwide member – which just means you need to have a bank account, savings account or mortgage with the building society.

You’ll also need to be aged 16 or over, be registered to use the internet bank and have a valid email address.

Once you’ve started the process of opening an account, you’ll have two weeks to add funds to it.

If you don’t make a payment into the account in that time then your account will be closed.

You can close the account within the same two-week timeline if you would like.

But like with other fixed-term accounts, you won’t be able to take money out of the account or close it before the end of the term.

The interest is paid annually on the date the account was first opened.

So if you opened your account tomorrow then you would receive your interest payment when the account matures on June 8 2026.

What is a fixed-term account and what other options are there?

A fixed-term savings account generally means your money is locked away for a fixed amount of time – such as one year, two years or five years.

You’ll receive a fixed interest rate that won’t change over this time.

Usually fixed-term accounts have higher interest rates than easy access savings accounts

Fixed accounts are best if you know you won’t need your money for a certain amount of time but want to get more return on your savings.

If you want to be able to get your money more easily, you are better off looking at easy access savings accounts.

These might offer unlimited withdrawals, or a set number of withdrawals per year.

Another option for putting away your savings is to look at ISAs, which allow you to save up to £20,000 tax-free per year.

You can either go for a Cash ISA which is more similar to having a standard savings account, or if you are willing to take on more risk you can look at Stocks and Shares ISAs.

These let you use your tax-free ISA allowance to invest in the stock market.

Of course, another option is to look at investing. You can see our ultimate beginner’s guide to investing here

What are the best interest rates around right now?

Cash ISAs are currently paying some of the best interest rates – although bear in mind you can only save away up to £20,000 in these per tax year.

The top easy-access rate right now is Plum’s 4.85% Cash ISA.

This includes a 1.57% 12-month bonus, so it’s worth noting down to switch after a year as your rate will drop dramatically then.

You should also be aware that your rate will drop if you withdraw more than three times a year, so this is best if you’re not planning to withdraw often.

A similar option is Chip’s Cash ISA deal, which has an interest rate of 4.82% but allows unlimited penalty-free withdrawals.

If you have more than £20,000 to save, Atom Bank has an easy access account with a rate of 4.75%.

However the interest rate drops in any month you withdraw so it’s best if you just want to store money.

If you’re looking for a one-year fixed account, Cynergy Bank pays the top rate at 4.4% and can be opened with a minimum of £1,000.

The top two-year fix is only slightly higher at 4.43% and it comes from Birmingham Bank.

It can be opened online with a minimum of £5,000.

Fifa secretary general Mattias Grafstrom has labelled the changes as ‘trailblazing innovations’[/caption]

The tournament, which used to feature just six teams, has been expanded to 32 teams, spanning Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

But it’s not just the tournament format that is going to look different, but also the way the games are officiated, after Fifa announced five “trailblazing innovations” to be used in the competition.

Football‘s world governing body, and tournament organisers, have revealed that fans will get to see more of the referee’s decision making than ever before.

The first change announced is that referees will wear body cameras during matches, with the footage used during live match broadcasts.

While footage from referee monitor reviews (VAR) will be aired live inside the stadium – something Premier League fans have been asking to see for some time.

Fifa will also trial an “advanced” semi-automated offside technology using sensors inside the balls, in hopes of making further improvement on the tech already used in Uefa competitions like the Champions League.

A fourth change will be the use of AI to collect live match data, helping fans see even more stats and figures to dissect the match.

While the final innovation is that managers and coaching staff will be able to request their substitutions to the fourth official through a digital tablet, doing away with the old fashioned paper slips used at present.
