He replaced the originally announced Kyle Ashman, who was sent packing from Majorca just days ahead of the series launch after it emerged he’d been quizzed by cops over a violent attack that took place in February.

Speaking to press, Conor revealed he’d sought advice from past winner Greg O’Shea.

Islanders are forbidden from revealing their involvement in the series before entering the villa.

Fellow Irish rugby player Greg, 30, won series five alongside Amber Gill.

Conor shared: “I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island.

“He just said ‘be yourself, it’s a really really really cool experience that not many people get.

“So enjoy it and yeah take it day by day and if you can be yourself you can’t really go too far wrong’.

“So that’s my plan. He was like ‘my advice might be a bit different from others because I won’.”

He added: “I’m 25 and I’ve only had one relationship and it wasn’t very long.

“So I feel like I’m maybe doing something wrong or maybe I’m not in the right places.

“So, hopefully that this is the right place and it should be you know because you’re in a lovely villa surrounded by beautiful people, so I’m hoping that this is the one.”

Kyle has since spoken out about being axed saying: “I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident.

“I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.”

Masked thugs stormed a wake in Stafford and hacked at a dad with a blade in February.

Ashman, 23, was one of two quizzed but released with no further action.

Sources said the channel was unaware of the incident and he was not flagged as part of contestant checks.

The victim, 38, nearly lost his arm. He was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept in for around two weeks.

Another mourner was glassed, one struck with a metal pole, and two people run over by a car during the 15 minutes of terror at a social club in Stafford.

Ashman, who lives in the town, was one of two men to be nicked on suspicion of affray then bailed.

A source said: “This was a horrific attack which could have been even worse.

“Ashman may have signed up to one of the biggest shows on TV with this hanging over his head.”

It is not suggested that Ashman, whose job involves laying and repairing water pipes, was involved in the attack.

I ditched the UK to live on a cheap island with my kids – I was sick of splashing cash on nursery fees and bills

A MUM has shared how she ditched the UK for sunny Thailand with her kids and husband.

Lauren took to social media and shared why she left England and has no regrets in uprooting her family to South East Asia.

The mum-of-two revealed that she and her family decided the cost of living and their busy schedule was too much.

Instead of putting up with it, they sold their house and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand for a new life.

She said: “We didn’t leave because we hated the UK.

“We left because life started to feel like one long checklist we didn’t remember choosing. Wake up. Rush. Work. Nursery. School. Bills. Repeat.

“We wanted more presence, more connection, more sunsets and slow mornings.

“So we sold almost everything, booked a one-way ticket, and figured it out as we went.

“It’s not perfect, but it’s ours, and we’ve never felt more free.”

Lauren often shared her new life in Thailand on social media and recently shared one of their favourite breakfasts while they stayed in Koh Samui.

She headed to one of her favourite food vendors and ordered fried chicken and sticky rice before getting some Thai milk tea.

The mum even said that she thought the iced tea was better than English Breakfast tea.

The mum added: “Hands down they are better than an English breakfast tea. They’re sweet, they’re icy. They do give you that little tea fix.”

She said the next step to the perfect breakfast was to locate the nearest beach.

“The beach closest to our house here is Chong Mon. And if you are coming to Koh Samui, even just on holiday, I really recommend this area,” Lauren said.

“It’s kind of like a mix between touristy but not too touristy.

Moving house hacks

1. Declutter Before You Pack

Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.

2. Create an Inventory

Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.

3. Use Quality Packing Materials

Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.

4. Label Everything

Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.

5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box

Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.

6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup

Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.

7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items

Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.

8. Colour-Code Your Boxes

Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.

“The beach here is so good for kids because the water is really shallow.”

Finally, she and her family sat down on the beach to enjoy their breakfast with a stunning view.

The clip went viral on her TikTok account @lifealongsidelauren with 120k views.

People were quick to take to the comments in awe of Lauren’s new life.

One person wrote: “Living the dream, I would swap my builders’ tea in England for yours any day of the week.”

Another commented: “I have been following for a while just wanted to say that because of you and your TikTok my future with my kids will look the same!”

“I haven’t seen your posts for ages, glad you’re still enjoying your new life,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Brekkie on the beach..elite!”

“Love watching your adventures! We are coming to to Thailand in August and can’t wait,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Such an inspiration.”

Leftie teachers, cops and doctors trying to swerve court trans ruling named & shamed in damning report

A DAMNING dossier names and shames leftie organisations trying to swerve the trans Supreme Court ruling.

It shows radical gender ideology is still embedded in bodies from healthcare and education.

Despite the landmark judgement in April that trans women are not women.

MP Rosie Duffield warned the report by Policy Exchange think tank shows ministers must crack down on any organisations failing to comply with the law.

The report found the biggest teaching union NEU said trans women in schools must be allowed to use ladies’ toilets.

The National Police Chiefs’ Council said they would not “rush” to change biological sex strip searching rules.

And doctors at the BMA union who called the ruling “scientifically illiterate”.

Ms Duffield, who quit Labour last year after clashing with Keir Starmer over women’s rights, said: “How many more will simply stay silent and allow local activists to continue to run the show?

“Government ministers must lead from the top to ensure public bodies comply with the law: ultimately, this is their responsibility.

“Radical positions on gender identity have become deeply embedded and it will be the work of years to rectify it.

“There should be no illusions that this is over: there will be many more battles to fight before women’s sex-based rights are secure.”

Report author Lara Brown praised campaigners like JK Rowling for shining a light on the gender debate.

But added: “There is still much more to be done.”

An NEU spokesperson said: “It’s nonsense to say the National Education Union isn’t standing up for its women members.

Schools need to support and treat all their staff fairly, including women and trans staff, and unions can help achieve this.’’

They previously fought in a 2023 classic – with Gilley winning on points.

And after their rematch – scheduled for the vacant British super-welterweight title – collapsed Onyenani stepped in on late notice.

JoJo, 22, did not not hold back when it came to giving fans a glimpse into their goings-on as they spent quality time together.

In one of the snaps, Chris could be seen picking his girlfriend up and carrying her whilst in another they strode hand-in-hand as they went to see some horses.

In the vast photo dump, JoJo’s last snap was also a clear zoomed-in image on the couple clasping hands with each other.

She added a caption to each individual photo but it was what she wrote next to the hand-holding snap that proved her clear affection for the Love Island alum.

JoJo described holding Chris’ hand as “the one thing that can make everything better”.

She also shared pictures of the pair enjoying breakfast and cups of tea as she relaxed at Chris’ family home.

The singer, who fell for former Love Island star Chris in Celebrity Big Brother house, said she struggled to go back to normal life without Chris when she returned to the US for a month.

But now the American star, who hails from Nebraska, has recently returned to the UK to be with Chris – and she plans to make good on a promise to mark their love with a tattoo.

The happy couple drove fans wild recently with an intimate backstage moment in a post to TikTok when the pair were seen hugging each other, holding hands and putting bracelets on each other.

And at her recent London gigs she changed the lyrics of Bette Davis Eyes to “Chris Hughes’ eyes” as he looked on, giddy and red-faced at a music venue in Shoreditch.

The two have set tongues wagging ever since getting close while competing on this year’s series of Celebrity Big Brother and have been crossing oceans to spend time together since the show ended.

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick sensationally SUSPENDED by BBC for using sick disabled slur on Strictly set

EASTENDERS star Jamie Borthwick has been dramatically suspended by the BBC for using a vile disabled slur on the set of Strictly.

The actor 30, apologised for “any offence and upset” after aiming the sick jibe at Blackpool locals.

The Sun on Sunday understands Jamie has been suspended by the BBC from his role playing Jay Brown on EastEnders

Disability equality charity Scope said the remarks were “ignorant and hurtful”, adding: “Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable.”

The EastEnders star was suspended by the BBC after a video emerged of him on the Strictly set using the term “m********s” to describe the people of Blackpool, the seaside town where the show was being filmed.

Blackpool Council’s Tory group leader Paul Galley blasted: “Everyone will be shocked at such a horrible comment and I join them in condemning it.”

And the BBC told The Sun on Sunday: “This language is entirely unacceptable and in no way reflects the values or standards we hold and expect at the BBC. We have robust processes in place for this.”

The Sun on Sunday understands Jamie has been suspended by the BBC from his role playing Jay Brown on EastEnders.

Jamie made the offensive remark on a mobile phone video while the Strictly cast and crew were at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom last November for the flagship BBC1 series live show.

He was backstage during rehearsals with his Strictly co-star Wynne Evans who said “Oh my God” on the footage sent to a pal of Jamie’s.

Jamie, who has been on EastEnders since 2006, said in a statement to The Sun on Sunday: “I want to apologise sincerely and wholeheartedly for the words I used in the video showing my reaction to making it through Blackpool week on Strictly.

“I am deeply sorry for any offence and upset my words and actions have caused.

“It is no excuse, but I did not fully understand the derogatory term I used and its meaning.

“That is on me completely.

“Now I am aware, I am deeply embarrassed to have used the term and directed it in the way I did.

“It was wrong.

“When I made the video, I was excited and caught up in the moment.

“Again, that is no excuse.

“But my regrettable actions are not a true reflection of my views, or who I am.

“I enjoyed every minute of my time in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and the town itself.

“The people of Blackpool have always been amazing with the Strictly crew, dancers and cast members.

“I know they will be again for this year’s show and those in years to come.

“I am truly sorry.”

The actor and Wynne were sharing their excitement after being told they were selected for the lucrative Strictly tour – which was staged nationwide earlier this year.

Jamie, laughing, says on the video: “Blackpool by the way. “Absolute m********s’.”

The soap star and his professional dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas were lauded in Blackpool after dancing the Jive to The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup in the live show on November 16.

This latest shock comes after opera singer Wynne was booted off the Strictly tour in January accused of making an inappropriate sexual comment, and later told his BBC Radio Wales contract is not being renewed following a four-month investigation.

The comments sparked an angry reaction from disability campaigners and the people of Blackpool[/caption]

And it follows The Sun on Sunday revealing in April how Jamie and Wynne were rapped by BBC bosses for sharing a joke over a sex toy video backstage at the Strictly tour in Birmingham – which happened before the latter’s suspension.

Now Jamie is at the centre of a new storm after The Sun on Sunday alerted his team and the BBC to the latest video.

It sparked an angry reaction from disability campaigners and the people of Blackpool.

Warren Kirwan, Media Manager at disability equality charity Scope said: “Attitudes and language like this are never acceptable.

“It’s not just ignorant and hurtful to disabled people, it has wider consequences.

“Negative attitudes hold disabled people back in all areas of life from getting a job to shopping on the high street.

Warren Kirwan, Scope

“Mr Borthwick needs to reflect on what he said, educate himself and do better.

“We hope he takes the opportunity to get to know the reality of disabled people’s lives.”

Councillor Paul Galley, Blackpool Council’s Conservative group leader, condemned Jamie Borthwick’s comments.

He said: “Blackpool’s best asset is its amazing people, along with the millions of people from around the UK who genuinely love the town.

“Everyone will be shocked at such a horrible comment and I join them in condemning it.”

Meanwhile, a source explained how the Blackpool show is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Strictly series – with celebs and pro dancers often saying how much they enjoy performing there.

The source added: “This will be considered a real blow and hugely embarrassing to the BBC and the show’s very warm relationship with the people of Blackpool and the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.”
