He’s good looking, smart & funny but even David Beckham snores – Victoria reveals all in first interview in 15 years

Graphic for "The Scoop".

VICTORIA Beckham today lays bare the touching realities of marriage to one of Britain’s best-looking men, saying: “Even David Beckham snores!”

Posh Spice, 51, reveals she wears earplugs to cope with Goldenballs’ bedtime wheezing.

In our exclusive chat this is the Posh Spice I was desperate to see: Brilliant, witty, self-deprecating — and oh-so real.

She admits: “I wear ear plugs. Let me tell you, it ain’t for fun.

“What do you think I’m doing it for? It’s not to pull a look in bed.

“He might look like that, but breaking news, even my husband snores. I have to have the ear plugs.”

Work in progress

Mum-of-four Victoria, 51, is speaking as her triumphant Netflix documentary hits screens this week.

She and ex—England footie skipper turned entrepreneur David, 50, are worth a combined £500million.

He was also voted People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive 2015.

But when I tell Victoria his snoring would see him banished to the spare room in my household, she laughs: “That’s not healthy, you don’t want to do that.

“That’s why you’ve got to do the earplugs.

“Or embrace the snore, and I can’t do that, so just block out the noise!”

The couple are clearly as in love, and content, as at any time in their 26-year marriage.

Warming to her theme, Victoria adds: “I have my LED mask I wear every night” — which would account for her annoyingly dewy skin.

There’s more details about home life: “We don’t watch that much TV, maybe the occasional series.

“We watched Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King and enjoyed that.

“Then we both like listening to podcasts.

Yes, I have had therapy. I think it’s really healthy.
It’s something that’s so acceptable and positive to talk about out now. I am happy to say I’ve had it.

Victoria Beckham

“And of course I read a lot of thrillers in bed so, you know, David Beckham, had better sleep with one eye open…”

A recent favourite is Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid’s Secret, billed as a “psychological thriller with a shocking twist”.

Victoria recommends reads to David who, because of his OCD, buys his own copy days later.

Victoria may be a fifth of the Spice Girls, a supremely successful businesswoman, fashion designer and loving mother but she insists she is still a work in progress.

She believes she has battled imposter syndrome for much of her working life — and mental health is a subject close to her heart.

She reveals: “Yes, I have had therapy.

“I think it’s really healthy.

“It’s something that’s so acceptable and positive to talk about out now.

“I am happy to say I’ve had it.

“And the way we’ve brought up our kids is all about communication. It’s good to talk.

“As a family we try to have dinner together every night — it’s phones down and ‘What has everyone done today?’

“Just making sure that it’s a safe forum for everybody to be honest and talk and laugh.

Being strong and knowing that’s what I do every day to be able to work properly is so important

Victoria Beckham

“We’re so much more aware of mental health these days, which is just so healthy.

“Doing the (Netflix) show was like therapy.

“It was emotional at times.

“There are certain things your mind has the amazing ability to forget because there were triggering things along the way.

“I went into this saying I didn’t want to talk about the Spice Girls because I’ve spent 20 years building this fashion brand.

“So I’m mindful I’ve been fighting these preconceptions that I’m just a celebrity face for 20 years.

“Only now do I feel I’ve earned my right to show in Paris.

“Now I can reflect and talk without worrying it’s going to affect my brand. I finally feel I don’t have anything to prove to anyone.

“I am enough.”

“That” Paris show was the unveiling of her spring/summer 2026 collection — which would have been unthinkable 20 years ago.

Famously-pouted one

Back then, she was dismissed as something of a sartorial joke by snooty designers keen to fiercely guard their patch.

Today her brand sells more than £115million of clothes annually and is worn by everyone from Catherine, Princess of Wales to former First Lady Michelle Obama and actress Daisy Edgar-Jones.

One of Victoria’s kohl eyeliners sells every 30 seconds. Her £37 Posh lipstick has a cult following.

So while the famously-pouted-one may still not crack a smile on the outside, on the inside she’s laughing all the way to the bank.

It is fitting, then, that we are chatting in her flagship Dover Street store in London.

Her next goal is shops in Paris and the US.

This is her first tabloid newspaper interview in almost 15 years.

I’m desperate not to f*** it up.

We meet hours before her glitzy red carpet premiere on Wednesday, and are both giddy on adrenaline (albeit for very different reasons).

Victoria’s parents, Jackie and Tony, feature in the series as do sons Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 23 and Cruz, 20. Daughter Harper, 14, has a scene-stealing cameo.

Questions about Brooklyn are off the table in the wake of their widely reported falling out.

Whatever the reality, it is clear Victoria adores all four children.

When I ask how she defines herself today, “mother” is the first word she shoots back with.

She adds: “I feel proud trying to be the best mum I can be.”

Chatting over a Dash raspberry sparkling water, former self-confessed control freak Victoria reveals she hadn’t seen the final edit of the show, adding” “I was OK to be in the hands of the editor; I leant into the process, and trusted it.”

She need not worry.

She comes across superbly, giving real insight into the struggles of keeping her business flourishing.

One that was £10million in the red at one time.

There is a scene which sees her painstakingly labouring over minor tweaks to a make-up bag.

It is such attention to detail that enabled her to launch her heralded online beauty brand, one that is crucially affordable to all.

David and I like to party. We have a brilliant group of friends. It’s about balance.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria often works 14-hour days, seems to survive on bare minimum sleep, and before our chat has done her usual 90-minute workout.

She is a machine: “Oh and there’s still so much I want to do.”

In the show she bravely talks about her eating disorder at the height of the Spice Girls’ fame — four years she has battled to free herself from the shackles of.

In episode one, viewers see her effortlessly squatting 30kg.

She explains she has transferred her food obsession into a gym one.

“Yes, I’ve managed to turn it around into being healthy now,” she muses.

“Being strong and knowing that’s what I do every day to be able to work properly is so important.

“I do the Stairmaster for half an hour on my own before (personal trainer) Bobby Rich and David arrive.

“Then I do about an hour with them.

“It sets me up for the day.

“It’s that discipline, it’s what I do, and I like routine.

“I do those bloody hundred floors for 15 minutes on that bloody Stairmaster every day. And if I don’t do that, I don’t feel like I’ve had a proper workout.

“But to be clear, I also love a drink.

“David and I like to party.

“We have a brilliant group of friends.

“It’s about balance.

“I mean, let’s face it, there are certain drinks like a Bloody Mary that are basically a health drink.”

On the subject of drinks, David has built a wine cellar in their Cotswolds manor, and the couple have been teaching themselves about wines.

Having joked she loved a Lambrusco in her early years, she looks mildly appalled when I ponder if she likes the cheap stuff now: “No.”

She says she and David are still incredibly romantic, but not in the way of grand gestures or expensive gifts: “It’s the little things that mean a lot.”

She adds: “I think we just really care about each other.

“We do leave notes and stuff like that.

‘Really caring about each other’

“He’s going away tomorrow so I put all his little vitamin bags together.

“We have so many vitamins.

“I assemble all the little bags for him. And in the morning he’ll always make our protein shakes.

“Sometimes he’ll cook dinner and does all these kind of things. It’s just really caring about each other.

“We still have a lot of fun together; the other weekend we went to our local in the country and had a lovely lunch.

“We do normal things, and we have similar interests like art and wines.

“And he makes me laugh. I think this is the most important thing.”

But, Victoria, who’s the funnier one? “Oh God, me. Obviously.”

And there we have it.

This couple have ridden storms together but, unquestionably, their dynamic is one any married couple would do well to aspire.

They may have over 200million followers between them, but ultimately Victoria and David Beckham are one another’s greatest fans.

  • Victoria Beckham is available now to stream on Netflix.

HOW POSH IS POSH?

VICTORIA stole the show in David’s Netflix show, when he ribbed her about her “posh” upbringing.

“My dad had a Rolls-Royce”, became an internet meme.

So, what I’m desperate to know is — how Posh is Posh, really?

Ever scooped up your dogs’ poos?

“Yeah, of course. I can’t stand it when people don’t. It’s not OK in the park.”

What soap is in your downstairs loo?

“Aesop.”

Have you ever been to Lidl?

“No, but my mum shops there.”

Last Amazon purchase?

“Nipple covers.”

Have you ever tried a Big Mac?

“Yes! I think I was brought up on McDonald’s.”

Have you commissioned any family paintings?

“No, but that would actually be quite a good gift for David . . . ”

Do you have a Club Card?

“No.”

Have you got a Vinted account?

“Huh?”

When did you last hoover?

“I haven’t hoovered in many, many years.”

Have you ever flown easyJet?

“Yes, loads! I’ve even flown Ryanair!”

Do you drink cheap wine?

“No.”

Have you ever had a cheeky Nando’s?

“No.”

Do you do the big supermarket shop?

“No, we shop online. I might have a potter around the deli in the Cotswolds at the weekend.”

Are you called Lady Victoria at home?

“No! Anyway, David hasn’t even got his knighthood yet!”

Until a PROPER deterrent is found small boat migrants will just keep on coming across the Channel

What plan?

THE small boats crisis has reached another grim milestone for those who want to secure our borders.

At least 35,000 people have now broken into the country illegally so far this year.

People thought to be migrants in a small boat in Gravelines, France.
PA
More than 2,000 migrants crossed the Channel last week — with bad weather proving a stronger deterrent than any tough-talking government crackdown[/caption]

There seems no sign that any are being put off by the Government’s tougher talk in recent months.

More than 2,000 crossed the Channel last week alone.

In fact, the only thing that does seem to stop them is bad weather

Ministers might as well pray for gale force winds because it’s clear nothing else is truly working.

Just 26 asylum-seekers have so far been sent back under the one-in, one-out agreement with France, with 18 coming the other way.

What a miserable return for a deal that was hailed as a game-changer.

Far from stopping the boats, Labour has presided over a worsening problem with no sign of a significant solution.

Just yesterday, the French head of the Calais region said digital ID cards would do nothing to put migrants off and are probably still years away in any case. He might well be right.

Until a proper deterrent is found, illegal migrants will keep on coming.

Trump triumph

DONALD Trump may just have pulled off the peace deal he promised.

Getting Israel to make significant concessions to bring the bloodshed to an end was no easy task.

Persuading the Hamas terrorist monsters to permanently lay down their arms may well prove more difficult.

For now there is only a ceasefire and a long way to go before Gaza’s future is settled.

But it will be a triumph for the US President — hard as that may be to swallow for the relentlessly anti-Trump BBC — to see the first of the remaining Israeli hostages home, potentially as early as this weekend.

They have suffered unimaginable hell for two years.

Their release comes only as a result of tough negotiation and Israel’s uncompromising punishment of Hamas

That’s a far cry from the pointless gesture politics we have seen in Britain and elsewhere.

A mum first

SHE may be the Princess of Wales but Kate is also a mum of three.

Like all parents she is worried about the effect of smartphones on children

She is quite right to warn of the dangers of too much screen-time for young minds.

It’s also true that attention spans are being smashed by addiction to devices.

As a mother who also lives in the public spotlight, the Princess knows how tough modern life can be for parents.

MAFS horror as bride rushed to hospital after dog bites her FACE in honeymoon attack

A MARRIED at First Sight bride was rushed to hospital after a dog bit her face while she was on her honeymoon.

Viewers of the hit E4 show were recently introduced to Leisha and Reiss as they tied the knot as complete strangers.

After their nuptials, they jetted off on honeymoon to Thailand, but just three days into the trip, disaster struck.

The newlyweds were out walking when she knelt down to pet a dog on the street.

But it suddenly bit her on the face and Leisha had to go to hospital for what groom Reiss called “a scratch”.

The Scottish beauty had to get an injection in her nose and one in her arm.

But the hospital trip caused an argument between the couple, as Leisha had to ask Reiss to attend with her, and she felt that he should have been by her side without her having to ask.

Viewers will have to see if the pair are able to work through the situation.

Leisha and Reiss were one of three brand new pairings who are intruding on the ongoing experiment as late entries.

Hunky painter and decorator Reiss was seen having instant doubts when he was introduced to 31-year-old Leisha at the altar.

And the groom continued to squirm as his wife and her bridesmaid fired a series of questions at him at the reception.

Leisha asked her new husband: “What’s your exes been like?”

Reiss explained that his ex girlfriends have been “all different”, saying he focuses on a “connection”.

Leisha asked: “Do you get a lot of attention?,” to which he replied: “No, not really.”

Looking uncomfortable, Reiss was then quizzed by the bridesmaid, who asked: “So how many exes have you had?”

Italy looks to ban the burka & virginity testing as hardline PM Giorgia Meloni battles ‘Islamic separatism’

ITALY is set to push a sweeping new law to ban burkas and virginity testing as part of a drive against what Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni calls “Islamic separatism.”

The conservative leader’s Brothers of Italy party unveiled the bill in parliament on Wednesday.

The bill includes fines up to £2,600 for wearing face coverings in public[/caption]

It proposes fines of up to £2,600 (€3,000) for anyone wearing a burka or niqab in public spaces — from schools and shops to offices and universities.

The proposed law also goes further than face-covering bans in other European countries.

It introduces criminal penalties for “cultural crimes” including virginity testing, and raises the maximum punishment for forced marriages to 10 years in prison, with “religious coercion” grounds for prosecution.

“The spread of Islamic fundamentalism… undeniably constitutes the breeding ground for Islamist terrorism,” the draft legislation states.

It also aims to tighten control over mosque funding and Islamic educational institutions.

It will force any religious organisation not formally recognised by the state — currently all Muslim groups — to disclose every source of funding.

Those deemed a threat to state security will be barred from providing money.

Brothers of Italy lawmaker Andrea Delmastro: “Religious freedom is sacred, but it must be exercised in the open, in full respect of our constitution and the principles of the Italian state.”

“We have taken inspiration for this law from staunchly secular France, with the deep conviction that no foreign funding should ever undermine our sovereignty or our civilisation.”

Burkas — full-body garments with a mesh screen over the eyes — and niqabs, which leave only the eyes visible, are already restricted in parts of Italy.

Lombardy banned face coverings in public buildings in 2015.

The new bill would extend that ban nationwide.

Galeazzo Bignami, parliamentary leader of Brothers of Italy, said the proposal was intended to defend Italy from “all forms of extremism and any attempt to create parallel societies on Italian soil.”

Sara Kelany, a co-sponsor of the bill and the party’s head of immigration, said Italy could not tolerate “the creation of enclaves where sharia law prevails over Italian law.”

But she promised a “model of society based on integration, legality and the defence of western values.”

Around two million Muslims live in Italy, and several groups have criticised the move as alienating and divisive.

France became the first European country to introduce a nationwide burka ban in 2011.

It was followed by Austria, Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands.

The European Court of Human Rights has repeatedly upheld such bans, while figures like Nigel Farage have branded the veils “anti-British.”

Meloni’s coalition, which includes Matteo Salvini’s League party, holds a strong parliamentary majority — making the bill likely to pass.

The ‘ugly, weird’ trend Nicky Hambleton-Jones calls a ‘style crime’ even though Gemma Collins & Kim Kardashian love it

Style queen Nicky Hambleton-Jones, former presenter of the Channel 4 show, 10 Years Younger, and author of a new book, Bolder Not Older, tells Natalie Clarke that the celebrity fad for hanging Labubus off designer bags is not only childish, but a style crime…

The latest must-have fashion item among A-listers isn’t a Hermes Birkin handbag, Gucci belt or Cartier watch. No, it’s a tacky little monster that you can buy for 20 quid.

Illustration of a fluffy white Labubu doll with a shiny face and large, sparkly eyes, wearing a rabbit-eared hood and small black bat wings, standing on an ancient-looking stone structure with pillars and clouds in the background.

I’m talking about Labubus. If you haven’t heard of them, prepare to find them on your child’s Christmas wish list.

And when I say child, I mean grown-up child, as it’s adults who are jumping on this weird, juvenile trend.

I’ll say it, I hate Labubus. Of all the bag charms out there, they’ve got to be the worst. I think they are ugly, really, really ugly. And because they’re so ugly they’re noticeable, right?

It’s a fad, of course, feeding the demand for plastic tat.

Like with most trends, celebrities are fuelling it.

The celebrity who seems to have started it all is Lisa, one of the band members from South Korean girl group Blackpink.

She has a Labubu hanging off her Louis Vuitton bag.

She recently wore a Labubu-themed outfit on stage and is so mad on Labubus it’s been said she has become Labubu — whatever that means.

Then we’ve got Rihanna, who has also been seen with Labubus on her Louis Vuitton bag.

Dua Lipa has put grey and pink Labubus on a designer red bag.

Ghastly charms

Lady Gaga had one custom made, a Labubu with a red outfit that matched her outfit from her Abracadabra music video.

She put the Labubu on her black Hermes bag.

Even Cher has been seen out and about with the childish charm hanging off her bag.

Reality TV stars love them too — from Kim Kardashian to Gemma Collins and Olivia Attwood.

Olivia had a Labubu-themed birthday party in May where she bought the dolls for each of her 100 guests.

They’re everywhere — hanging off designer bags which are meant to be discreet and understated, quiet luxury.

Labubus are juvenile and gauche.

Putting these ghastly charms on covetable luxury goes against everything designer labels represent.

My kids find their faces quite scary, it’s not something they want in their bedroom

Natalie

The Labubu is the complete opposite of the aesthetic a designer bag represents.

It kills the luxury element, and some of these celebrities have so many Labubus you can’t even see the handbag due to the visual clutter.

I beg, please take them off!

Labubus are for kids — and if your child is under the age of 18 and asking for one for Christmas, then fair play, I guess.

But children don’t seem to be jumping on this bandwagon as much as adults.

My kids find their faces quite scary, it’s not something they want in their bedroom.

These things are menacing-looking plushy toys with strange, pointy teeth and rabbit ears.

The character was created by Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-born illustrator, in 2015.

It was one of a number of characters called The Monsters who featured in his graphic novels.

Labubu is a kind but mischievous elf who lives in a mythical forest.

She is well-meaning but has an unfortunate habit of getting into trouble.

In 2019 the Chinese company Pop Mart began selling Labubu and the other Monsters online, but it was Labubu who, for some reason, grabbed everyone’s attention.

There are lots of versions, sold as a series, such as the Big Into Energy, Coca-Cola and Lazy Yoga series.

Often, you don’t know which Labubu is inside the box when you buy it, so there is an element of surprise.

Paris Hilton smiling while holding a brown Labubu toy, surrounded by several other Pop Mart Labubu plush toys.
instagram/@parishilton
Paris Hilton with her many Labubus[/caption]

And, of course, they have become collectables.

You can pick one up from Pop Mart from around £16, with prices ranging up to about £80 or so, but they sell out quickly and people will resell them for hundreds of pounds.

It’s trendy, it’s the new hot thing. It’s very clever. People go crazy for them.

In May, a fight broke out among customers at Pop Mart’s store at Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, East London, and the retailer removed the toys from all 16 of its shops until June “to prevent any potential safety issues”.

There’s nothing charming about these little gremlins

Natalie

My issue with celebrities wearing them as part of their outfits is that they are doing it to jump on the hype — possibly for social media likes — and they are fuelling this frenzy around cheap plastic tat.

The socialite Paris Hilton was photographed giving Labubus to her children.

Even Paris’s mum Kathy has one! And David Beckham posted a picture of a brown Labubu which his daughter Harper bought him.

Now ordinary people who can’t afford a Birkin are buying a Labubu to get a piece of the celebrity lifestyle — it’s a statement accessory that most people can afford.

But it kills the idea of quality, of good fabric and conscious shopping.

If you can’t get hold of a Labubu, you can easily buy a counterfeit, a Lafufu, for as little as £2.50.

These dupes are almost as popular as the real thing, but can be dangerous for kids, as they might not have been through the same safety checks.

There’s no escaping them. They should be locked up in kids’ bedrooms, not displayed on the bags of grown adults.

The clue is in the name — bag charm.

But there’s nothing charming about these little gremlins.

I give it a year before all these Labubus are filling up landfill sites.
