THIS is the chilling moment a 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the street after accidentally brushing past his killer’s girlfriend.

Ahmad Al Ibrahim was walking through Huddersfield when he was confronted by knife-obsessed Alfie Franco.

The 20-year-old had taken offence because Ahmad, who moved from war-torn Syria for a better life, made “minor contact” with his girlfriend.

Footage showed a row erupting on the street before Franco, who was on a cocktail of drugs, reached into his pocket.

The thug then stabbed Ahmad in the neck with a flick blade – causing a 6cm wound – while still calmly eating his ice cream.

Ahmad could be seen clutching his throat in shock before staggering away.

He tragically could not be saved after suffering injuries to his jugular vein, larynx, trachea and carotid artery.

Franco has now been jailed for life with a minimum of 23 years after he was convicted of murder.

Leeds Crown Court heard Franco was obsessed with knives and had shared a video of himself playing with the £15 blade he killed Ahmad with.

Just hours before the horror on April 3, he told pals he planned to stab someone.

Ahmad, who had been injured in his home country, was walking through Huddersfield with his pal when he came across Franco.

The killer took “some petty exception” to Ahmad “innocuously” walking past his girlfriend.

Footage showed Franco saying something to Ahmad before calling him over after a short verbal altercation.

The court heard he kept the knife hidden in a “sly way” until the last second so unarmed Ahmad “didn’t have a chance”.

Franco fled the scene but later handed himself in a police station.

He told police he thought he had seen Ahmad reaching for a weapon in his waistband and claimed he was aiming for the teen’s cheek.

Temporary Detective Superintendent Damian Roebuck of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, who led the police investigation, said: “We welcome the sentencing of Franco for the dreadful and inexplicable murder of a teenager he had never met and who he had no quarrel with.

“We never believed Franco’s claim he acted in self defence, especially as it was contradicted by CCTV evidence put before the court.

“Ahmad himself was not carrying a weapon of any kind whereas Franco had taken to the streets that day carrying the concealed blade he used to inflict a savage injury on this poor young man.

“No sentence can ever bring back Ahmad but we hope seeing Franco jailed for many years today will bring some measure of comfort to a family who continue to grieve for his loss.”
